Nerd alert here.
I did a data match for times for Bob Firman and NXR NW to see what trends their are in improvements or drop offs. There were around 500 matches and I threw out the time outliers and kept only the top 100 boys and girls times from Bob Firman so it could focus on strong runners.
The average times between the two meets were less than a second part. On average, kids run at NXR NW what they ran at Bob Firman near the start of the season.
Kudos to Bozeman and Bishop Kelly for showing the most consistent improvement. SE Idaho runners seem to drop off the most, showing NXR performance isn’t as built into that part of the state’s team planning nearly as much. Most schools had a fairly random distribution of who improved and who didn’t.
