Mike Morin was possible the best 1,500 meter runner to come out of Louisiana. Definitely the best High school miler/ 1,600 meter runner Mike ran in 1990. I am just saying they are second on the list. Fact and l don't remember, not being funny if Mike went under 9 in the 3,200? He mostly did the 1,600. It would not be out of reach also for them to run 8:40 this Spring, from a 9:05 last year. Definitely not!
Not denying that Mike Morin was a great runner but could you show me what page of the Louisiana High School record book that he is listed in ?
OVERRATED!!! Good thing they didn't go to NXN... what an embarrassment that would have been.
They couldn't decide to go to NXN, they would have had to qualify, which would have been unlikely. They could have gone to NXR, but when they weren't Top 2, they wouldn't have made NXN anyway. And all the self-hype in the world wouldn't have gotten them a Wild Card over legit top National teams.
The Dyestat rankings also show that it would have been unlikely
Newbury Park Completes Four-Year Stretch As Nation's Top High School Cross Country TeamBy Doug Binder, DyeStat EditorEven on a weekend when things went a little bit haywire for Newbury Park, the firm of Sahlman, Youngs & Co....
This school just had their district meet and they had 3 runners run low 14s for 5k and the whole team ( top 7) broke 15:05 for 5k on a slow course. This destroyed the previous meet and course record. They have been running races all around the country; major meets, and they have absolutely destroyed the other teams and they aren't even running their top guy's.
Possible lineup for Jesuit LA with grades next year Michael Vocke - 12 - 15:22 5k in 2021 / 4:16 1600 / 9:06 3200 Brady Mullen - 11 - 15:04 5k / 9:10 3200 Brady Monahan - 10 - 9:34 / 16:11 5k (as a freshman!) Leland Crawford - 11 - 15:27 5k Lucas Sampedro - 12 - 15:26 5k in 2021 / 9:28 2-mile Josh Quintana - 12 - 16:34 5k / 9:48 3200 / 4:35 1600 7th spot will be up for grabs but 6 studs is good enough. It takes 5 to score

Who cares it's not cross country season and doesn't mean anything unless they do it at NXR or NXN?
What does the OP predict in the Louisiana State meet 3200 will happen?
Does OP even look at this thread anymore?
Oh he's still here. He made more than 16 threads and checks them every hour. He already started a Jesuit cross country thread today. I'm just seeing what all the hype is because the way things were going Jesuit should have made the World Cross Country team and should have all the spots on next year's Olympic Team.
They are not as good as Newbury, but this is patently false. For some reason, their MileSplit page is bugged, and doesn't include their 3200m times from the Texas Distance Festival. They had 5 guys run 9:06-9:22 there. All five of those guys came back this year. They also pretty much exclusively run the 3200 (DesRoches ran one mile race in 4:16, Vocke ran a few 800s and 1600s with PRs of 1:56 and 4:20, and the rest stuck to the 3200) so it's not worth it to include mile times. They smashed Hinsdale Central (NXR Midwest champs) at XC Town MOC, and their times from that day would've easily won NXR Midwest. Newbury Park is a level above the rest of the country right now, but it's disingenuous to say that Jesuit would not be competitive against any other team (and they're likely #2 after NP).
The coach at Jesuit New Orleans has taken these kids from pretty good to great. If this was a pro team with this type of improvement we would be taking PEDs of course l know they aren't taking anything, but he has taken each and every runner to another level. That just isn't done without some talent. Look at the massive improvements in all the runners. I can see 2 or 3 of these kids running 4:01, 4:00, or SUB 4 next year for track. Yes SUB 4! 3,200 meters to make it on the team next year for that event you need to be running 8:45. I can actually see 4 kids running 8:50 or better. We are seeing something incredible happening at that school. I can actually see someone at that school setting the high school record in the 3,200 or 1,600. These kids haven't been pushed. Look at the video of them running at the State meet on the website Varisty Sports. They aren't even going at 90 percent. Why should they if they are destroying everyone? Let them run in a real race against runners at their level and we could see two kids go under 4 in 1,600 and 2 in the 8:30 range for 3,200.
How we feeling about this post? Still see this team putting 2 or 3 guys sub 4? Still seeing 4 guys running sub 8:50? 2 guys in the 8:30 range?
This didn't age well... Jesuit LA is an average high school program for someone who emphasizes track. There are dozens of schools that have 3 boys running under 9:30 with one in the 9:10 and 4:15 range.

Jesuit didn’t place very high at NXR, but they had some guys sick / injured.
However, They have 2 sophs and a freshman on varsity. Also check out the times of the 3200 time trial of the 8th, 9th, and 10th graders on their JV. 2 9th graders and 2 10th graders under 10, and 2 8th graders under 10:30. Next year they are predicted to have only 2 seniors on varsity
