    I do a regular trail run with six segments. I like to time each segment as a lap. What I want to see while running is...

    Lap time for that split as I'm running. Current HR. This MUST be on the same screen. This is a problem with my new Garmin 45. The ongoing time for the lap split and the HR are on different screens. The trail is technical and I don't want to fall while changing screens on a watch.

    After I finish, I want to upload the run and see...

    Cumulative time

    Lap times w/average HR for that lap.

    I have an old Timex Ironman HRM that does a great and easy job of all of this. What I would like additionally is...

    A graph of cadence.

    A graph of HR

    A display that can be easily seen. Decent battery life.

    So, what meets these criteria? NOTE: I don't need GPS. The trail run is always 3.01 miles. The track is always 400m. I realize GPS will be on all these watches, but it's a non-priority for me. On the occasions when I'm not on this trail or a track, I really don't care how far I run. Thanks.

    Ah, I just found a way to modify this display so I have overall time, lap time, and HR on the same screen. I hadn't found that in the manual until just now.

    You can do all this with your Garmin. Change the display settings, customize your watch faces. Upload your runs with Garmin express on your computer or Garmin connect on your phone.

    My Garmin 645 Music does that. My main screen has 4 fields: 1) Timer, 2) Lap Time, 3) Elapsed time (for interval work), and 4) HR. When I upload the data to Garmin, I can view the graphs / lap splits on the web or on the app. I rarely use the GPS.

    That being said, it looks like the 45 is capable of displaying 3 fields, so it should do what you want. No need to get anything new.
