It sounds like super shoe users talk about them in the same way that alcoholics/weed addicts talk about drinking/smoking ie “I only drink at social events” vs “I want that buzz every day”. Seriously deranged and unhealthy behavior.

I’ve been told that running too often in plated shoes and/or running too often in heavily cushioned shoes weaken the foot.
I have no idea if either is accurate in general. More likely such statements are accurate as to specific shows. Personally, plantar fasciitis flares up on runs in overly soft shoes (most of my shoes) and never on runs in my Next%. I’ve had several marathon cycles where I’m panicked wondering if I’ll be able to run because the soles of my feet and heels hurt so bad up until race day, then I don’t even notice them in the marathon on the Next%.
This. So what shoes are like Vaporflies but with a rubber outsole? That would be the perfect everyday trainer.
Where does this end? No runner is allowed to receive water from an outside source during a championship road race. But, they can wear shoes with springs in them? What is technology going to provide in 10 years? Bad enough battery powered bikes are outselling pedal power bikes. See a trend? Fat/lazy
They are wealthier than you. Get over it.
Most of them have been on sale recently for the same price or less than daily trainers which is probably really why more people are wearing them outside of races
