Didn’t one of the NP boys fall just short of the line and then instead of getting up quickly to finish, rolled around like a drama queen, letting a good dozen boys pass him and take points?
had he gotten up quickly, they would have had a better score.
That was Doshi. He was running with the group who ran 15:25. Then he fell to the ground 15m from finish. He actually got up pretty fast. He only lost 3 places since he was already at the back of the 15:25 group. One of the three guys was Seymour.
You can hardly say that about the girls team though. One senior leaving. And they are still really good this year. They will be better than the boys team next year
The top squads are preparing to run their best race in early December at NXN or Running Lane. Why would Newbury Park be concerned with putting a statement beatdown on a bunch of lesser teams two months before their season peak?
I don't know why, but they were definitely trying to make a statement. They said so in multiple interviews. Other than the Youngs, the statement wasn't what they were hoping.
At cif state in 2019 Great Oak had all 7 guys with a speed rating 179 or above. There were some 180+ guys at great oak who didn’t race there. That is just something else
I think every top team in the country: Jesuit, Caramel, CBA, Herrimen, etc. now realizes that this years version of NP is not last years version. One illness or injury to any of the top 3 that keeps them out of NXN, and they are still really good, but beatable. The aura of invincibility is no longer there. I think this makes it pretty clear that the whole NP phenomenon was just 2 really good families transfering to the same place at the same time. Everyone just really benefitted from the Young and Sahlman talent. That is just about over. 2023 NXN is wide open for boys, but 2022 is now a possible upset year to.

Never heard of a high school named Caramel.
Carmel is the correct spelling
Every top team in the country now realized not only that, but also that Carmel will no longer be eligible for NXN this year
