Conner Mantz says 4:46 pace at altitude feels "comfortable" - Indicates he will go out in 1:03 at Chicago Marathon 2:07 or bust

Emily Sisson's buildup has been spectacular. She plans on going out in 69:30. Will she get the AR? rojo

Some nonbinary runners are irate that Chicago Marathon's new nonbinary division isn't paying out prize money give 'em an inch, they ask for a mile

Thank you my friend!!
Have they even shown her on screen?
Stalking the app is way more informative than the stream, which is absolutely ridiculous.
Finally they mentioned Sisson...
Emily Sisson is on American record pace and Suzanna the winning Wheelchair racer has received more coverage (about 20 minutes) than Emily (0 minutes!).
Is it me or are there different types of wheelchairs ? Some where they turn the wheel directly and some where they turn "pedals" ? I'm surprised we haven't been informed of this, some heads need to roll !
Great post. I am watching the international feed now via a VPN to CANADA and flotrack. Evne on this channel they are showing the NBC wheelchair interview. WHat a joke.
THankfully I don't have to see the local people so now I'm seeing the race.
For the record, my son says the guy in the orange top is going to win. And he just got dropped.
I woiuld love to tweeet out the following but Weldon would probably go ballistic.
Woke, but racist? A BLACK woman is on her way to settting a world record at the @ChiMarathon but we aren't seeing it as they are focused on the all-white wheelchair race?
Nice to see a shot of Sisson FROM THE HELICOPTER!
That’s it, I’m done. The coverage of the Mexican consulate broke me. I turned off the broadcast. I hate Peacock.
Finally. We get to see Sisson from the helicopter feed.
I understand that human interest stories keep the casual watchers engaged but the "fun" stories should maybe be saved for the first half so we can see the race as much as possible during the second half. I don't know I don't like to be mean to people having fun but running fans should get to enjoy the coverage too.
5K - 16:23 (2:18:15 pace)
10K - 32:54 (2:18:47 pace)
15K - 49:17 (2:18:36 pace)
20K - 1:05:49 (2:18:52 pace)
Half - 1:09:26 (2:18:52 pace)
25K - 1:22:09 (2:18:39 pace)
30K - 1:38:37 (2:18:43 pace)
35K - 1:55:10 (2:18:51 pace)
Only needs to average about 5:26 pace for the final 4.5 miles to get the record.
American Record - 2:19:12 - Keira D'amato - Houston 2022
I paid for a month (US based) so I could watch all the majors without having to look for a stream. Been watching the stream through a VPN. Sounds like it is way better than the peacock stream although they did cover the wheelchair way too much. The running has almost entirely been on the mens front pack with a few times cutting to Chepngetich. Haven't seen any chase pack once.
My wife - named Emily - has been watching for at least 30 minutues. She finally hears the name Emily Sisson for the 1st time. 'Honey, who is this woman named Emily?"
Ok, so I noticed this at Berlin too. There is no way the blue line is the shortest distance possible. One corner they just went around could have been much shorter. Is the blue line the official (shortest) distance?
Why the hell is this not covered on the Olympic channel? Designating World Major Marathons Coverage to local TV news networks is a disastrous decision for the good of the sport.
Really hoping Mantz can hang on for sub-2:08.
We could get a women’s WR, a big negative split 2:03:xx, an American sub-2:08 and an American record.
BUT I NEED MORE COWBELL
They can interviews the losers of the wheelchair races, but wont ever have a translator to interview the African winners. At any race. What does that tell you about how much they really care?
It’s great seeing a battle between ASICS, Nike and adidas at the front. the shoe battle between those companies is for real. nike doesn’t have the advantage like they used to
Does disabled white man in wheelchair or poor black lady get more WOKE points?
