Perhaps women's marathoning has just completely changed.
The Kosgei time a few years ago was so shocking but maybe with Super shoes we need to completely change what we think? I still think Chepngetich will win.

Can you put my idea I posted (quoted below too) to someone at World Athletics? Forget copying Drive to Survive, the sport is being let down by idiots at local TV stations covering what are meant to be major events.
Yeah, I noticed that too, had to repost with an asterisk in sh*t. Privileges my friend ! None of that "equal prize" crap on LRC ;-)
You think that Ed E. would tell the producer of this garbage something. Cover the Americans
I can’t believe Sisson is gonna win Chicago after Ruth crashes and burns like Kirui in 2018 Boston.
I don't understand why media refuses to adapt. Just let the people watching the stream (us) choose which camera we want to view and allow us to multibox up multiple views. I would view the elite men and women. A Chicagoan might choose the tailored feed.
This way they still can roll all their advertisements, but more people would be watching the stream overall.

I just watched the Ironman World Championship coverage for Men(Saturday) and Women(Thursday)both amazing races with very compelling coverage. This coverage is so so bad in comparison that it's literally jarring.
That's what happens when you have the organizing body also doing the coverage. You could go online and watch whatever feed you wanted. I have no clue what the point of having all of these bikes with cameras during these races when they only cut to those feeds for like a total of 5 minutes. If you care going to put the resources into having them out there why not make the feed available for people to watch??

Coverage has been brutal… lol couldn’t quote JG because he said sh*t. Kinda bs he’s allowed to swear but not us common folk
just stay here, the NBC coverage is horrible
Not the first person to say this, but it's mind boggling that I haven't seen Mantz or Sisson once while watching this coverage

Sisson having a good race.
Her pacing has been incredible. Just the opposite of Ruth.
Tim Hutchings for the official voice of the world marathon majors?
Will we miss the men’s breakaway? Yes!!!
Wheelchair racing is a minuscule percentage of the athletes in this race. Why the constant coverage and back stories on them? Seriously! Do other majors devote the entire broadcast to the wheelchair racers?
London kept panning back to a second pack of man to show their UK guy. Why can't we do that? They boost Chicago, why not American runners. I thought we were supposed to be obnoxious about that.
I feel bad, but I so do not need this very extra wheelchair analysis.
Last 5k was 15:18 for mantz, slowing a bit to high 2:07 average pace. 1:30:49 through 30k
Does world athletics even have anything to do with world majors?
I thought it was a completely separate thing

I never realized just how awful the coverage is for this Marathon for people that want to watch the athletic competition. Why do they do this? Is it an attempt to entertain people that have no interest in running?
Woke City.
I think they also think running isn't that interesting so they think havign 4 stories to tell instead of 1 is better but what they don't get is it makes it way worse. They really need to get rid of wheelchair racing entirely. Have 1 race a season.
Chepngetich ran 15:56 for the 5th 5k. Slowest of race but still very fast.
The thing that is bothering me is that there is a pride in being ignorant here. Chepnegitch might implode, but we are currently watching someone go for some insane history. A producer should be aware of this and have her on screen the entire time.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Jakob Ingebrigtsen has a 1989 Ferrari 348 GTB and he's just put in paperwork to upgrade it
