Yoko Shibui is actually a good 10km runner ,especially at road. But at least two minutes from world top level at marathon,I think.

Sound like your having a great time oversea, good for you guy. Now about Yoko Shibui, no way can she threaten BOTH Catherine the Great and Paula the Impossible at Chicago! The training Ms. Shibui is doing although tough to you may not come close to the training Catherine and Paula are doing! Good Luck with you training.

Paula, are you reading this?
I hope you have the same attitude about kicking this Asian ass that Michael Jordan had playing basketball. He didn't want to just beat his opponent, he wanted to humiliate him. His goal was to make him never even think about challenging him again.
Crush her. Break her. Humiliate her.
And one more,
Most Japanese may not like my comments ,but I think she is not suitable to marathon mentally and physically(though her training environment is very good).
This is a great post. It's nice to know who else, besides the big names we all know, to watch at Chicago. Who knows...
They're pretty good at starting something, but not very good at finishing it off.
Shibui is good, but remember that workouts mean nothing. Hell, before Ndereba set the world record she couldn't finish a 10 x 1200m workout in 3:42 that her coach had planned for her. Ditto with Khannouchi, almost getting beat by Radcliffe in a 10K months prior to him sending Tergat and Geb packing. Bottom line is: Radcliffe and Ndereba are in better shape. Shibui ran 30:48 at Stanford. Radcliffe has run 30:01 and Drossin 30:50. Ndereba has beaten the world record holder over 8 and 10K on the roads. Until Shibui races something more impressive than Rad or Nde, my vote of confidence is with them.
Paula will make her look more like Yoko-Ono.
Mmm.If that's the case,
she has speed to beat Ndereba(sometimes) in ekiden((So do other Japanese women, truck runners are not necessarily good truck runners, let alone ekiden runners. So sometimes Japanese women beat world top level truck runners in ekiden .and ekiden is usually held in Japan) .But I'm not sure about shorter road races(She is certainly not special at half marathon judging from her 7 experiences). She is not a very good truck runner. And she is not always special runners(she is often mediocre at world perspective).
Here's her data at Japanese marathon HP.This HP's data are very good,I think.

In my opinion based on past performances and current
conditioning-the only women to challenge Paula and Catherine
well be each other! As much as I like Deena and would like
to see her and others do well, they won't against the two
female locomotives!

Maybe if Maraget Okaya was running Chicago instead of New
York she could challenge Paula and Catherine.
Yeah,I heard some people said they were dissapointed at Ndereba's Boston this year. But I think her race was rather good,it deserved to be by far the second best marathon performance in her life considered Boston course.(Though she had calf problem?because of severe course?)
So what was good was Okayo's performance.I hope she will attend Chicago.
But I think
Paula 2:16 Ndereba,Okayo 2:18,Shibui2:20 or 2:21
they have ability now to run times of the above all in ideal contion in Chicago course.
That is funny Jason, it seems an elite runner friend of mine was with Yoko at some sort of conference in LA the same day you were sopposedly working out with her. Try again with some other lame story.
Hmmmmmm.
IF Paula wins it will be by less than a minute; however,
both SHOULD go under the WORLD RECORD! You guys act like
Catherine is running for second and that she isn't the
greatest ACCOMPLISHED road racer of the last 4-5 years!
MY OPINION: Paula may or may not win, Catherine may or may
not win-on any given day they both are UNBELIEVABLE! That
is the fairest assestment anyone can give.
At first I thought, wow this Jason guy is cocky but is seriously logging some quality miles at altitude. I do enjoy reading about the workouts, if they are real and if Jason is even in China. I am beginning to believe this Jason fellow is some highschool kid getting his rocks off with his little bed buddies. Why must we lie to earn respect. I really want to believe someone has put their life on hold to go after this noble training cause, but that post about yoko in LA has really casted some doubt. . .
Politically Correct, dude we all know you hate asians, but dude keep all the hate to yourself.
Typical name calling. Can't depate the issues so throw some insults. Um, the last time I checked, Yoko was Asian. And I still want Paula to win. And I want her to kick butts along the way. To spoon feed you, that means I want her to kick some butts. That means she will have to kick an Asian's butt. And an African butt. Is this becoming clear to you? Damn, there I go again. Now I hate Africans.
I agree, people should keep their hate to themselves. Practice what you preach and keep your ignorance to yourself.

Mine too, I was just saying that it is nice to know who else to watch out for
Nice Try Average Joe, but that is not the same guy that would stoop to the level that the "doing Asia" guy does. With a common name like Jason, it was not too hard to find some results with his name. Heck, if you look a little further, there is another fast Jason just a few spots down in the Crescent City Classic results.
Nope, no right to say anything here. Not on a private message board.
