I've sat on a couple of juries in my lifetime, and we handed down sentences much worse than that. And their crimes were nothing compared to what NJ has done. Dude needs to be locked away until he is old.
Sadly, for the offense he was convicted of, there was no way to lock him away until he is old. At least he’s going to prison.
Remember this? Posted on the social media of most of the Huntington team two years ago? I'd love to see David Woods reach out for a follow-up now.
I stand by the current coaches and administration of Huntington University in light of recent allegations brought against them. The allegations against the university were twisted to fit a narrative inconsistent with the reality we, as student-athletes, encountered. The university and its current coaches have a history of upstanding behavior and have never deviated from such behavior. Therefore, I support the university and repudiate the recent allegations brought against it.

I get that people think the sentence is light, but it's a year in prison, a year on probation (where he may not even be able to cross county lines without getting prior permission), and ten years registering as a sex offender. The guy lost his career. His wife lost her job at the university. His future career prospects are very dim. How the hell is he going to pay his legal bills? All of the motions, court appearances, and a two day trial, plus all of the previous stuff. That's one hefty legal bill.
I don't really care about his future or career. He can go put on an orange vest and work on a highway crew...or shovel $?!+ at the zoo. His lawyers deserve every penny for getting the plea deal they secured for his first crimes.
Did anyone clock that he's a new dad?
So Lauren, I guess stuck with him? What a sad ridiculous world we live in.
What he did was wrong, and it's right that he's being legally punished for it, but you're talking about something different.
Some people treat marriage very casually and would divorce at the drop of the hat. For others, marriage is sacred and continues to be such even when one of the participants fails to live up to it.
Are you saying that LJ gave birth to his child recently? I haven’t heard this.
Are the bills paid this way?:
Lauren coaches Wiley.
Wiley wins prize money.
Lauren takes a slice of the prize money.
Lauren and Nick are married.
That prize money goes towards legal bill.
Good morning downvoters.
Yes it was considered in the sentencing decision. He "had a child born this year."
Wow…things just seem to keep getting more bizarre.
