I agree. If the money is right take it and run (no pun intended). Is the book going to reveal something we don't already know? Is this something that Kara "Needs" to do in order to heal? My only question is if the years with Alberto, the club, and Nike were that horrific why does she continue to dig and potentially open herself and her family up to ridicule and a possible defamation lawsuit? Kara was an active and willing member of the club for years and reaped many benefits. Alberto is gone, the club is no longer, and now she's poking the bear (Nike), and may be in for some payback, even if Nike doesn't have a leg to stand on they can still move forward with a straw-lawsuit which could drag Kara through the mud and cost her financially in defending herself.
Is this book really necessary? Is it a need or a want?
I'm curious what she has to say about Llewellyn Starks beating the sh!t out of Chris Whetstine. Starks worked for Nike and Whetstine massaged Gatlin just before Gatlin tested positive for sterioid use in 2006.
I am going to read the book and find out for myself. Her interviews demonstrated to me, that she has been waiting for this opportunity to tell her story for a long time
Sounds like people will still buy amd read the book. That means she can make some money. Why not try to make some money? She will probably be repeating a lot in the documentary about Salazar that we all have watched. No problem with that. If you do have a problem with it, she sure doesn’t care…. No one else with a brain cares either…
I believe that Kara wanted love from Alberto but he was like a father figure for her and she wanted it to be platonic. I believe Alberto got creepy and crossed the line and then eventually things deteriorated. Kara will likely discuss this in some detail. Alberto will not look good of course. Kara will likely be telling the truth.
She is terrible. And I don’t say that because it’s her. When I first heard her announce I didn’t know it was her and I couldn’t believe how bad it was. Stumbling over words, yelling and the dead silence for 15 seconds, just so bad that I craved the guy who used to always say “just like your local Hs track, or v8 inside of a Volkswagen, or when he races has doubts...who will finish second”

Waiting?? She’s been shooting her mouth nonstop since day 1.
Larry Nasser and USA Gymnastics, Harvey Weinstein and the film industry, Jerry Sandusky and Penn State Football. Look how long they got away with it while the organizations turned their heads. Lot of the attitude I see on these posts is exactly what gave rise to monsters like this...denying that it can exist and playing the devil's advocate. Everyone seems to agree that Salazar was guilty at some level of abuse yet they'd rather attack the people who actually went through it. Goucher has the right to tell her story. If nothing else as a cautionary tale.
She is unlistenable so I am sure she is unreadable but she was a pretty good runner thanks partly to Alberto.
Let's be real though. It's not like Kara could write this book by herself. In fact, someone probably wrote it for her.
The book has the co-author's name on the jacket. Very few athletes ever write their own book, because, let's be real, they spent their free time in the gym, not reading Gravity's Rainbow.
Salazar had a co-author for his auto biography and still came off as, how do you say, mentally unwell and not very smart.

Why? Because it’s obvious through her performance that was juiced up under Al. She’s a conniving narcissist
This is my main issue with Kara. I get the feeling she tells the truth, just not the whole truth.
This is the part that bothers me. It's like an ex-girlfriend who got dumped and went on a smear campaign including a concocted, one-sided story that implicates only the coach to the authority and omits her own bad behaviors. She is still kicking and screaming. Mary Cain is involved in this same idea to a lesser degree due to immaturity as well.
For those who care to support her, she has another book that may be of interest: "Strong: A Confidence Journal for Runners and All Brave Women"
Her forthcoming book, "The Longest Race: Inside the Secret World of Abuse, Doping, and Deception on Nike's Elite Running Team" is now available for pre-order.

Let's hope Lara paid attention in English.
Kara*
smh
Doctor Zhivago!
It's not the first book she's authored. Degree in Psychology with a 3.6 gpa and Dean's list and academic All-American, I'd say she's pretty well edumacated.
In the instagram post, she states that the book has been 3 years in the making and is co-written with an editor, (much like Ball Four, the original baseball 'tell all' book) was with Jim Bouton and Leonard Schecter. She also mentions the book is to clear up a lot of misconceptions about her and also how her experience with NOP was both good and bad. So it may not be a total Saladbar bashing.
Looking forward to hearing Kara's point of view, These stories need to be told and it will be interesting to see what Kara has to say. She was a great athlete and her announcing is good too. She has many critics but then many other successful people do as well.
