Hi everyone, I just decided to check back on this thread and am honestly shocked to see how much it has grown! I appreciate all the input.
To whoever wrote this response, we are literally the same! I have the same pre run morning routine.
I know that some of you are citing the scientific reasons like gluconeogenesis (definitely didn’t spell that correctly) as to why eating something before isn’t necessary, but I think I am sensitive to this topic in particular because I do have a history of an eating disorder and telling myself I don’t ‘need’ things unless my body is on a cellular level completely depleted which is not okay. My issues never had anything to do with running and in fact I had to stop running for a while, but I don’t want this mentality that I can always ‘go without’ that snack or meal because I won’t drop dead if I don’t have it to become toxic for me again because it easily can. Hope some of you can understand. Also honey stingers are so good and I highly recommend you try the variety 6 pack off their website!
