Brandon, of course, had to sit out six weeks due to his transfer. But he was doing well. After running a 16:08 5k in San Diego in September (The Aloha Run), and running strong tempos at practice, he was slated to be the 7th man and was going to debut at Clovis. Unfortunately, he got a couple of horrible respiratory viruses that gave him bronchitis and was out of school for three weeks. After a couple of weeks of training, his first race was at Riverside. He then developed peroneal tendonitis on his next training day. That kept him out for several weeks where he trained solely in the gym and stationary bike.
Focusing on track, he had gained back his fitness. However, once again, right before his first meet after another six-week SOP, he got sick. Fortunately, this time he was only out for a week or two. But it did affect his fitness. He's run two races since but still has a ways to go to surpass his PR's. Let's see what he does at the VC Championships...
