Exactly...you hit it right on the head of the nail. Back in my younger days in the 1990s the obesity rate was around 20% - now it's more like 40% in some states. Overweight/obese younger women were a rarity back then - you mostly saw that with much older women. Nowadays you see a plethora of overweight/obese in their 20s & 30s. I see them all of the time at the gym I work out at.
As a below-average looking, ultra-short (5-6) bodybuilder, fitness enthusiast, health nut who's in great shape, these are the women that I attract. Lol. I've been hit on at the gym, the grocery store, the bank, etc. Some of these women are morbidly obese and come on strong. One at the gym, a 29 yr old who's 5-2, 210 lbs & outweighs me by 35 lbs! 😲 (she eagerly told me her weight & said she's been struggling with an eating disorder most of her life), told me how hot my physique looked & proceeded to ask me if I was married & all that. She seems to imply that I should be thrilled that she's interested in me. These women reject the obese guys that are after them, and knowing that they can't get the hot "Chads," they go for below-average looking fit guys like me (they're smart & know guys like me struggle to get with attractive, fit women). This is what social media has done with these obese women is inflate their perceived SVM.
Though I'm not sexual attracted to these big women (some have nice personalities & are fun to talk with) I could easy get laid by one of them & bail out hoping to never see her again. But I would like a relationship, a GF, a companion, etc. But there's a major conflict of interest in lifestyles, eating habits, hobbies, etc. The average to above-average looking fit, in-shape women are in such hot demand by so many thirsty men that only the top guys are going to have a fair chance. Overweight/obese women are growing in numbers & are in abundance, therefore, lower-tier guys don't have much of a choice.
