Burrito truck convoy had couple of flats but back on the road again! We are entering Calif. and should be in Eugene by early Sat. morning. We are firing up the ovens as we speak so we can crank out some tasty burritos once we get there! Honk honk!!!
This is Elise Cranny 2.0. Similar trajectory, Stanford, etc. Cranny is one of the most obvious dopers out there. Just saying…
Cranny is one of the most obvious dopers? An uber talented athlete who clearly dealt with major injury and health issues for her whole time in college gets healthy and is able to take a big step forward after a few years of consistent high end training. Not so obvious other than one of more than 20 people she has trained with as a pro tested positive for a banned substance. Another poster noted that Monson destroyed her in a diamond league 3k. If Cranny is doping, so is Monson, but I don't think most people believe that either.
Christina Aragon is a talented runner with good speed. I would expect to see her succeed and step up to the next level if she is able to put in consistent injury free training over the next couple years. No doubt her friendship with Cranny is one of the big draws to join BTC.
Posters convinced that specific people are doping are just looking for something to be aggrieved about. Just support efforts towards a clean sport, recognize flaws in the current penalty phase of the system that lack transparency and offer very little protection for an athlete after they test positive. You don't have to believe any athlete excuses after they test positive, but the system places the burden of proof on an individual to conclusively demonstrate their innocence and not on the doping agency or sport to conclusively prove an athlete was intentionally doping.
Well she was a training partner and friend of the athlete in question snd showed/shows a similar progression. It is what it is.
how is her progression significantly more suspect than Monson? Cranny's progression from injured to healthy after cutting out school and having nothing to do but make sure you eat right and get recovery is reasonable for one of the most talented high school runners ever.
Monson and Hurta on the On team have made similar jump in their transition from college to Pro. So has Fisher, Hoare, Beamish, Grijalva, Kincaid, Klecker. Proximity and lame excuses for friends are not evidence of doping.

My main suspicion of Cranny is how much she is shilling for Shelby. I think she was the only BTC athlete in that Cronkite News article who was quoted (extensively too). Either Cranny is a doper herself, a very supportive friend, or incredibly stupid. I generally don't think she's stupid.
Otherwise, I think Cranny could have improved that much under the conditions stated above.
It is eerily similar where cranny and aragon were up until they graduated from college...
Cranny: HS class of 2014 HS PBs: 204.81/410.95/1017.48 (3200) 4th World U20 1500 College PBs: 205.43/409.49/858.88/1549.27 College AA Placings: 6 (2014 xc 12th, 2015 3k 2nd, 2016 1500 2nd, 2018 1mile 5th, 2018 1500 3rd, 2018 xc 11th)
Aragon: HS class of 2016 HS PBs: 204.00/409.27/1022.10 3rd World U20 1500 College PBs: 205.67/409.59/901.86 College AA Placings: 6 (2016 xc 38th, 2017 1500 7th, 2018 3k 7th, 2018 1500 4th, 2021 1500 8th, 2022 1500 3rd)
yeah both HS studs then impressive college careers though crazy how Aragon had that big 2 year gap due to injury; She basically didn't race after 2018 outdoors then COVID hit; It will be interesting to see how she can do if she can keep the injury bug at bay....
Didn’t claim they were (the only group), but they are the club with the current shadow in the sport. Seems like a poor business decision at this point in time. A puny nike contract, a coach that wants to find out if you bend or break, and immediate suspicion.
but I’m just a letsrun troll
I still haven't gotten a satisfying reason to believe BTC is doping. I can believe that individual athletes are doping on their own, but I don't think there's anyone joining the group and finding out afterwards that they dope all of their athletes. It absolutely would have leaked by now. I'm also completely convinced that Fisher is clean. There's no way someone with a Stanford engineering degree is going to risk their professional reputation to dope in distance running.
It may seem like a bad business decision, but I think it's way more likely that it was the best decision she had if she wants to pursue running. She graduated from Stanford. Maybe I'm putting too much stock into it, but I feel like if you graduate from Stanford, you're probably making pretty good life decisions.
Regina Jacobs graduated from Stanford. And then went on to be involved in one the most prolific doping scandals ever.
