You mean they won’t win the national championship 7 years in a row?
they won in 2019
they would have won in 2020 (pretty sure)
they won in 2021
they will win in 2022
let’s see how they do in 2023. they do have a non zero chance of winning. 4 of the non seniors need to improve by 1.5 minutes in the next year (they have a choice of nine guys, so they don’t all need to improve by that much). 90% chance they will not win however.
but that’s still 4 national championships
How many HS won the national championship more than twice?
90% chance they won't win? They have a far less than 10% chance of even making NXN next year.
They won Runninglane in 2021, not NXN. They may have won, just like 2020, but they didn't actually win, so they will officially have 2 National Championships.
There is no official national championships, NXN is just a postseason marketing meet put on by Nike. The National Championship is wherever the best teams show up and that was RunningLane last year.

And Jesuit LA seems to want to make it happen this year
Yes , NP is done. These are overtrained kids. Eventually you will get burnt. Kids are kids, there’s a lot better things for them to do than continuously run themselves into the ground. Can’t blame the kids
Saturday can't get here fast enough. At least we'll have a discussion about actual racing results and not some navel-gazing pontificating about what people think will happen in 2-3 years. For crap's sake, people are talking about NP's decline as if it's already happened. Can we get at least one race in first? Talk about their decline when they get taken down, not while they're still on top, otherwise it's just wishful thinking from the haters.
And what happens if they still win? Do we get a bunch of Tanya haters?
If Tanya starts acting like Sean, I’d imagine you’ll get a bunch of Tanya haters.
Who is gonna get more hate? Tanya or Tammy (new great oak coach)?
It's bizarre how NP haters are grasping at threads. They are quite likely the best in the country this year, yet again, for the fourth year in a row, even with Sean Brosnan at UCLA. Next year? What is that? This is this year. When we get to 2023, let's talk about 2023. This is 2022. By next year, who knows what this team will be like? And whatever happens next year doesn't say diddly squat about Sean Brosnan's work at NP. That will be two xc seasons and a track season removed from his coaching. So, what work does it do for you to say that next year, not this year, but next year, NP won't qualify for NXN? I happen to think that they will recover nicely and be very strong again in 2-3 years as their freshmen mature, but all that means nothing now. Enjoy what promises to be the second best xc team of all-time this year.

Next year Tanya won’t be coaching. She is just an interim coach right now.
Next year the coach will be from a totally different family
And that sophomore barely made any progression from last year to this year. He only dropped 19 seconds from last years marmothe time to this years marmothe time. And that time was in the 17s. And he ran a 4:39 in the 1600.
Not trying to be mean but this sophomore class at NP went from irrelevant to even more irrelevant

Still a lot of improvement needed.
If you look at the returning 5K times for 2023,2024,2025, Buchanan is number 1 for all of them
The guys at Milesplit have always been idiots. Jesuit and Carmel have great teams this year, and the race for the national title will certainly be closer than it seemed coming into the season. But NP is still easily #1. They'll go 1-2 individually, Aaron will still be top 10, and they have the best 5th man in the field, even with Doshi running at a lower level than expected. If he and Seymour can step it up a bit (even 15-20 seconds faster), NP will approach 2021 levels of dominance.

Doshi’s time should have been approx 12s faster than what he did (assuming that he would have kept the same pace over the entire 5.00km than he did for the first 4.98km), so it’s deceiving (his time should have been 15:25). But yes, he still needs to run 10s to 15s faster than that (if not more).

Check out this L/L video. indicates that Seymour has the capability to keep up with them at workouts. Second workout group consists of Cantu and Doshi. Shows that Doshi might not be able to keep up with Brayden / L / L, and if he can’t, Cantu should be able to keep up with him.
