Nick Willis’ PBs outside of his 1500 are weak and not reflective of his abilities. So if his 800 is mediocre (1:45.5) and a time he’s intimated he bettered in time trials, what are you thinking for his 1,000?
Let’s put it this way so people can conceptualize. The 1000m WR is a pretty good record (2:11.96). The 800 is otherworldly (1:40.9). 2:16.4 is 4.5 seconds off, back of the envelope math has that as 3.6 seconds in an 800 if you want to account for the shorter distance. So if the records were equivalent (they’re not) this would resemble a 1:44.5. More likely 2:11.96 is worth around a 1:42.0 or 1:41.7. That would mark this more like a 1:45.5 type equivalent. That’s where I’m at and again that is great running for Hobbs. But I’m concerned about the time and performance level, not lists.
