North Carolina XC Predictions

Way too early boys predictions for 2023 (class 4a)
1- Hoggard. Placed 7th and returns everybody
2- Marvin Ridge. Placed 5th and returns 2-6 from the team
3- Broughton. Returns 3 scorers from the state meet. Also another 16:45 guy. Should be able to find a fifth. Looked to be in contention this year. Should challenge for the win next year
4- Cuthbertson. Returns almost the whole team. Probably had a bad race at state though
5- Weddington. Solid program. Placed 3rd and returns everyone but their top 2

Kids go to Tabor because the program is good and they want to be good...they don't recruit they just attract talent. No other good distance program in the state has a population as diverse as tabor...

And Tabor still didn’t win

That's my point

Tabor has an unsustainable program without kids transferring. The population of residential district kids will not support a competitive program. Their "secret" is well known in NC.

Third at states with no transfers

It is true they were 3rd. It is not true that they have no transfers on the team.

Burrell transferred in before junior year. He is a senior now

He is one of the transfers currently on the team. Everyone in NC knows the deal with Mt. Tabor.

Charlotte Catholic was really impressive with the second place finish after getting 13th the year before
