And who could blame you for that assumption? This is an unprecedented level of success for a Louisiana high school and a shockingly fast rise to prominence.

Perfect score! Almost a 1-7 sweep
Sampedro seems to be working to get back into shape from an injury but they are still deep enough without him. Next year he and Vocke will need to be in top shape for this team to win nationals.
Just FYI for people in other places not familiar with the City Park course. It's 3 miles, maybe a smidge long. Conditions are decent since it's been dry all fall, but the finishing straight is sandy. I'd say it's probably 15-20 seconds or so slower than Highland Road in Baton Rouge, where most of the top Louisiana times usually come from.
Weather was about 72 degrees for the race. It's insane to me that they nearly got 5 people under 15 minutes on that course in those conditions. Also, Vocke and Sampedro had the #1 and #3 fastest times on the team last year, and at this meet they were 6-7.
Sounds like next year, Mullen (10), Crawford (10), Vocke (11) and Sampedro (11) will be a deadly top 4 if healthy. They also have another freshman who ran varsity at Niketown- Monahan who is running in the low 16s for 5K. He could close the gap on them if he makes the jump that many people make between freshman and sophomore year.
They also have 2 other freshman who have run a 16:13 and a 16:39 in a 3 mile. Also another 8th grader who was close behind Monahan last year in some XC races. This team is gonna be dangerous in the coming years.
Crazy how this program was turned around so quickly
Brother Martin is really young and looking good for next year
To put this performance into perspective - I was there in 2018 when Hunter Appleton (who was Colorado's #5 man at PAC12s yesterday) set the course record of 14:52. Hunter was a 9:01 man that year. Now, in pretty warm conditions, Jesuit had guys at 14:29, 14:34, 14:49, 14:52, 15:02, and 15:13 in a single race. Truly one of the best teams in America this year. This is really exciting since we have never seen anything like this in Louisiana before.
Pretty mind-blowing that the 9:30 guy is in the bottom is this list but this year he is usually #1 on this team and set a school record.
Vocke and Sampedro were #1 and 3 last year on the team. Do you guys think they will get those positions back next year?
Considering Carmel got 5th at nxr, barely beating them showed zero guarantees that they would win RunningLane
Resurrection.
Would Jesuit LA have qualified for NXN this year?
