yeah as a Canadian growing up, the Commonwealth Games were really a thing-Edmonton hosted them in '78, and it was the next biggest thing to the Olympics...now though with the wane of the British Empire and having Worlds every 2 years (1st worlds weren't until 1983) dilutes the competition for track and field. Along with having Pan Pacifics/Worlds for swimming, can't blame athletes for prioritizing those instead-still a solid competition but definitely not what it used to be! At least they won't have the fate of the GoodWill games lol!
