The broadcasters are really, really incompetent, even worse than we thought?
This is either:
a) a rojo sock puppet account.
b) a SECOND person who can't take 3 seconds to check in which time zone Memphis (a city famously located along the banks of the Mississippi River) is located before logging on to lets run dot com and ripping t&f broadcasters.
Neither. I was agreeing with you, sarcastically. That my sarcasm didn't come through proves your point about the inanity of the post you were commenting on.
I think the main reason he still runs is because his wife runs.
I think he pretty much is retired from competitive running but gets into some races for s and gs.
Absolutely. He's a runner! He likes to run. What does he have to do in order to not piss off the cretins on here? Wear a disguise and run under an alias?
Did anyone watch it from start to finish? How in the world coudl the men's 800 not be on tv? It was one of the few events with legit pro - including one who ran at Worlds. That came on 6 minutes before the TV window? Did they even show a replay.
Instead they were showing youth 100s?
And what did they show between 12:30 and 1:30? THe last running event was at 12:30(women's 400) but the event didn't go off air until 1:30? What did they do for the final 1 hour of the broadcast?
Post is going to be reported for being factually incorrect.
The men's 800 was part of the broadcast.
The women's 800 was the final event of the broadcast.
It appears that your impression of the schedule is off by exactly one hour.
Can you think of a reason why that might be?
Well if Rojo does one thing right. It’s being factually incorrect.

Not every one of us knows the ins and outs of the sport. Admittedly, I am at a loss here. Gotta learn somewhere, and you obviously know the meanings of "s" and "gs". Seriously, would you please educate me (and a few others, I would guess)? Thanks.
On the Letsrun.com home page, the following is written: " Yared Nuguse destroyed the likes of Holt, Prakel, Parsons and Jager won the men's race in 3:34.95." Bad sentence, of course. So Parsons, presumably Sam Parsons, ran the race? He's not in the results:

More than a day after "Parsons" was put on the home page, in the announcement/links regarding the Ed Murphey Classic, IT IS STILL THERE, despite my earlier observation that there was no "Parsons" in the entire 1500 won by Nuguse.
In fact, there was no "Parsons" in the entire meet! I don't get it. Does the braintrust at Letsrun.com hate Sam Parsons, or something? (Any more than his many other detractors, that is.)
Oh yeah, he's an American, but he runs for Germany. Right, that's a legitimate reason to harbor hatred. Does Mondo hate Parsons, too? (I don't think Letsrun.com hates Mondo, or they're biting their proverbial tongues about it, because the man is so good at his craft.)
I think he pretty much is retired from competitive running but gets into some races for s and gs.

Shots and goggles, except with Is for Os. It’s an expression.

It's vulgar slang. It means "to do something for no other reason than to amuse oneself." It's meaning is similar to "for the h*ll of it."
It's probably a vulgarization of another slang expression, "for kicks and giggles."
Thanks for bringing the meanings of "s and gs" to my attention. I know the expression, just not the abbreviations, and I just needed a little prodding.
Thanks (yeah...after more than a day) to the bigwigs at Letsrun.com who finally took the name "Parsons" off of the home page's main link to the Ed Murphey Classic write up.
