That’s a fact. She’s just the best athlete in the world of athletics right now.
She’d of been an awesome heptathlete if she’d of focused on that as well.

Probably the next two Olympic cycles as Paris is only two seasons away.
Sydney, competing in Los Angeles, would be where North American sponsors would want to put their money.
Good news. You won't have to wait long because she is scheduled to run a 400 in the next few weeks.
Bad news. She won't be able to run 48.2 .
Wrong. That is what happens when a 35 year just keeps getting faster lol.
This is a prodigy who is just now coming into her own. Obviously the previous record before Muhammad broke it was crazy soft because the best 400m runners ran the 400 but this is the case where the best 400m runner is running the hurdles instead.
I’m fine with any doping but this isn’t one of them…yet. In the future who knows.
Shouldn’t she go hard for the 400 world title next year? Or even later this year? What is the challenge for here in the hurdles? That record is going to stand for a while and she can always come back to it for Paris.
She was asked a while ago if she would ever do the heptathlon and she said absolutely not.
Too bad. Sydney would probably be the best in the world at it. Anna Hall just won the bronze medal in the heptathlon and Sydney is way more talented than Anna Hall.
PLUS Sydney actually lives in Los Angeles. She could be the face of the 2028 games.

Her coach is Bobby Kersee. It is what it is.
Flo-Jo's coach, for anyone who doesn't know. I assume John Gault will be asking Femke Bol if she thinks this record can be believed...
I mean shouldnt she wrote:

I can see her doubling in the 400/400h at next year's world championships if the schedule allows it. But I don't she will drop the 400h and only run the 400.

Based on the World Athletics scoring tables, her 50.68 is worth 1312 points. Here’s how that score compares to the other women’s sprint records:
10.49 = 1314 points
12.20 = 1261 points
21.34 = 1308 points
47.60 = 1304 pointsAmazing!!
For men:
3:41 mile = 1320 points
3:25 1500 = 1317 points
1:40.50 800 = 13:15 points
women’s: 1:52 800 = 1310 points
utter ridiculousness!
Let’s face it: This is Sydney McLaughlin’s world, and the rest of us are just living in it.
She’s boring. Not what “track and field needs!!!”
Like I’m sure we could engineer robots to do it in 5 seconds but what’s the point. The whole point is to the human struggle and triumph. She removes as much of that as she can with her strong jaw and love of some fake god.
Jc show some emotion like Lyles or Knighton or at least be like Kerley who doesn’t care but gets it done with mad swagger and a little glint
Even Rupp was way way better in 2012 him and Farrah jfc
usa is nothing more than a drug factory as far as sport is concerned.it starts in high school and goes on from there.theyre much worse than russia,they get away with it,and few people ever question them.

How can it be better than 47.60? Scoring tables are off a bit.
I'm enjoying the circus that track is today. A combination of outrageous talent with the very best pharmaceuticals.

This suggests it was an undeveloped event as many have said.

I was not expecting such a well thought of comment from you.

Definitely not going to get into what a persons response should be!! Sydney is being who she is and it was obvious she was exhausted! The mascot and another athlete tried to help her up. Sydney put up one finger signifying she needed a moment. I think it’s just how she controls pain or exhaustion. She mumbled “Thank you God” under her breath. She looked flat out exhausted. As should be when you knock the world record out of existence. Breaking 50 is definitely possible for her!!!
She was the least happy gold medalist and WR setter I’ve ever seen. Probably less excited about gold than Jakob was about silver. It was awkward to watch.
