There was an Official 12 foot away from him. I’d been watching him for a while. He looked around 70 or older and had seemed half asleep - not spotting TJers running across the track when the 200m heats were running. He had a platted gray ponytail and looked like a 60s hippy / stoner.

The cat-calling on the line during the women's 1500 reminded me of a high school basketball game I attended once, where they had metal detectors at the entrance.

Amazing that the steeplers actually just ran around him. What possessed them? Shouldn't they have stopped and screamed and yelled how they are being personally hurt by someone making a mistake.

Dude should be canned forever and this clip shown as an example to everyone (including athletes) allowed on the field. At the very least, the cameraman had the presence of mind to remain still. Had he freaked and jumped to one side, he'd have knocked over several runners.

GoPro's Gopro 10 with its small size and superior stability control.

Cameraman not needed.
