Well there goes the aspect of challenging courses. I would imagine it will be a flat course. 2024 event will be in Crotia.

Why aren't these hosted in Kenya instead?
84 was at the Meadowlands, but yeah.
It is not southern Florida, Tallahassee has hills.
The highest point in Florida is 345 feet, but yeah.
Genuinely not an easy course. USATF Club XC was held there last year. Conditions were absolutely atrocious and times weren't that fast.
Time for way too early predictions.
Who is making the team?
Fisher, McGorty, Mantz, and three others
Well in Denmark where the USA performed poorly the elevation gain over 10.2k was 1072 feet or 327 metres.
Will be interesting.
That is the same course as where NCAA was last year, right? Pretty flat, the collegians ran 28:30 (Mantz) and 19:30 (Orton).
It would have been nice if Indiana State hadn’t completely given up on hosting national level meets. ISU’s would be a much better course for this stage of racing than FSU’s, but I don’t think they’ve put any bids in for anything in years. So much for “XCTownUSA” 👎

As a reference, Tallahassee is about as far from Jacksonville or Orlando as Bathurst (site of 2023 W XC) is from Sydney. Not quite beyond whoop whoop but hardly metropolitan. Both should be good shows. Hope the international crowds show up in good numbers.

I know that it's a bidding process and they bid and others didn't but USATF has to get its act together.
There is the challenge of the course aspect. But, Florida? Really? Florida?
The sweaty arm pit of the USA?
Florida men all over the place?
The only worse state they could have picked would be Texas.

Are you talking politics? weather? terrain? Could you expound please?
Anyone who ran NCAA XC there knows this course isn't flat. It's not OK State, but it's not a walk in the park either. Also, in talking with Braman and others with FSU who were involved with the bid -- there will be hay bales and a mud pit etc... It is an absolutely spectacular course and facility.
I’d rather travel to Croatia than to Tallahassee. This is the same old thinking that awarded the Eugene WC bid and then Bathurst. Can’t we put this thing a hour’s drive or less from a major airport?
TALLAHASSEE LOL!!!
I can assure everyone, this will be a XC event like no other! The course will be very challenging as well crafted and thought out elements will bring this race back to the roots of cross country. The goal is to give the athletes AND spectators something to get excited about and leave everyone involved with lasting fond memories. The XC events in Tallahassee have been smashing the general stigmas of flat, hot, and boring for years, and this event will be no different. Have faith and more importantly have fun and lets enjoy having this amazing event back in the US!
