Furman and Luff rolled the dice on qualifying for Footlocker/Champs, and came up empty. Both likely would have qualified for NXN with equivalent performances.
On the flip side, all 4 top NY girls who opted for FL/Champs were successful.
They will possibly be the last 2 teams at NXN but congrats to them for qualifying
Older Catherwood moved to third on the mw team but they won’t go
Grapevine is pretty weak. If Mountain View gets an at-large they are also pretty weak.
If they look at seasonal progression, consistency, and care about NXR performance, then Mountain View is not a team they will wanna pick especially if they think they will be weak at NXN. They did very well at state though
I think they prefer to pick which teams they think would finish the highest at NXN
I’m very curious as to how many 8th grade boys there were on the team in 2021 and in 2020. Interesting to see how many others in Ditre and McBlane’s class did this, and how many quit
There probably wasn't a modified team in 2020 due to Covid. That has hurt the teams that traditionally have good feeder programs.

Congrats to Corning and St Anthony's. They both ran their best races of the season at the qualifier.
Based on past history, similar performances would put them somewhere 16th - 18th at NXN. A top-15 by either team would be a really good result.
Conversely, Bethlehem's girls will be DFL if they match their regional performance. I think they're dealing with some injuries. Hopefully they can rebound, but they've been treading downhill since mid-season.
