It's almost as if you have no idea WTF you are talking about!

It’s almost as if you think each runner has exactly one outfit. Watch Tokyo’20 400H’s top three finishers to fix your idiocy.

Real question is why aren’t more women athletes choosing formal attire like a collar and tie

Well I tried those bunhuggers at my local pride run and honestly I did improve my PB by 4 %.

Is this what you're talking about?
I didn't force Keely to wear anything. Keely is forcing me to take a cold shower every time she wears something like that.
Thats one big dome of peace on that lady.

It's the old herd mentality. Everyone wants to fit in. Fashions change and that's the current fashion.

Who is behind this nonsense? Running in a swimsuit? Is it really beneficial to run a race or compete in the pole vault with fabric crawling up your butt? Seriously, who's to blame?!! I WANT ANSWERS!!!!!
Boy shorts ride up just as much as bun huggers, if not more. It all depends on the particular bottoms and body type. I run long distance, so I can't speak for pole vaulters, but buns are very comfortable for me. They tend to be lower on the hips, so they don't dig into my stomach (I have a sensitive belly when running), and they don't blow around. The bikini-type race kit is also great for warm weather. When I'm pared down to essentials (just my body and necessary clothing), I feel fast and efficient.
Women shouldn't be forced to wear buns if they don't like them, but I don't think their popularity is simply due to objectification, patriarchy, or vanity. Have you looked at the starting line of men's sprinting events? Surely you don't think buns are more revealing than what those guys are wearing.
Where've you been-under a rock for the past 30 yrs? What about men sprinters? You can basically see everything. Its the style of the uniform for the sport and seems no one has a problem with it except you. Speaking of fabric crawling up butts, have you ever watched female gymnasts do splits? who is forcing THEM to wear bikini bottoms?
Huh? Bun huggers aren't more revealing? You are confusing the comparison of sexes with comparison of clothing. Put those sprinters on the start line with 4 in bun huggers and 4 in standard shirt tights and you will see which bottoms are more revealing.
I coach D1, we leave it up to the athletes what they choose to wear. About half choose buns, half choose those boy short things.

At local schools where they offer a choice, maybe 85% of the girls choose the kun tuggers.
I buy regular shorts for my girl runners. A good portion of them show up at meets with some sort of tights instead of the regular shorts I provide them with.

It's men. Men have power and historically have made women do things they would otherwise not do if not for male dominance and patriarchy.
This must be so. This old man was at the track last weekend running 200s. No one else was there until a college age female soccer player showed up to do shuttle runs on the infield. It was hot, so she stripped down to her sports bra to do her workout. I am sure it was simply my mere presence of dominance and patriarchy that caused her to do that.
