That’s some B follows A logic. Probably 90% of elite runners run every day and your last sentence just isn’t true.
There's so much truth in Steve's last sentence. Your growth as an athlete is directly tied to your ability to recover from the last run, regardless of your talent or ability or accomplishments. Every athlete is going to have a different sweet spot, where they're pushing enough but not yet going over the falls and exceeding their ability to recover. Just cause you're fast doesn't mean your body can handle 100mpw, and just because 90% of pro's do something doesn't mean 100% of pro's should try. It take's a smart coach and a smart athlete to recognize that. SDSU, you are clearly neither.
So that explains why he is so healthy right now... oh wait
What did he say he does Sunday? Takes the day off. Smart guy. Smart coach. That's what enables him to rest enough to recharge for the Monday workout and recover enough to make gains in his fitness. Smart guy. All these guys not taking any days off usually have trouble recovering and making gains or get injured.
I am a pro athlete and i train every day. One day off every week is too much at this level, i wont bother to explain why.
