Houston Strake Jesuit returns their top 3. They lose their next top 4, but they had a guy run a 4:30 at the moonlight mile and a 16:55 in CC. If he can step up and HSJ finds a 5th man (maybe an incoming junior since many people make big jumps from sophomore to junior year) they will be a team to watch as well.
They also have another incoming sophomore who ran a 10:30 in the 2-mile at Districts in September.
These are the 6A teams that will make it to state out of region 1: Southlake Carroll Prosper Flower Mound Coppell Eastwood, EP Americas, and Plano West are losing so many of their top guys.
Since that transfer was a big loss for Flower Mound, I think the 4th team out of that region will be El Paso Franklin instead of Flower Mound. They had only 1 senior on varsity last year. They return the following 3200 times: 9:24 9:41 9:43 10:01 They just need a #5. I’m sure there will someone who can pull that off. They return 3 more guys that ran in the region meet.
Vannerson - 9:01 / 15:03 Demahy - 9:40 / 15:59 Jamison - 9:47 / 16:17 Noe - 10:10 / 15:58 (actually an incoming senior even though he was listed in class of 2022) Ochoa - 4:30 / 16:55
This is a solid top 5 I’d say.
There might be some underclassmen stepping up too.
Nicole Humphries 4:49/17:39.30 Samantha Humphries 10:23/17:39.98 Alexandra Fox 10:30/17:45.25
Do they have a #4 and 5 to beat Carroll's depth? Senior Abbey Coberly had a good Spring Track (5:17) and should be there solid #4 although slows a little at distance. Unless they have a surprise Freshman there wasn't really anyone else stepping up yet #5-7.

Boys:
Carroll's top 6 from State all returning.
Someone else posted that Flower Mound has an incoming freshman who ran a 5:30 as a 7th grader. Maybe she would be a solid 4 or 5

certainly! I hadn't heard that, but doesn't surprise me. as usual Southlake has some young surprises too. hopefully Flower Mound comes out August 20th for the Southlake 3200 as usual.
Here's what I'm seeing incoming from Flower Mound MS...
Analiese Romero 5:38
Taylor Dowers 9:27 2400
Elle Hall 9:33 2400
Sara Gasca 9:49 2400
Also last year's 7th grade...
Eliana Rivera 9:18 2400
Megan Schmidt 9:26 2400
Funny enough the top 2 Carroll Freshman so far weren't even on the Southlake Middle School radar.
1. Southlake Carroll. Won last year. Returns 1-6 and a 9:32 guy who was not on varsity last year. Could be top 10 at nationals or better. Maybe top 5 if all goes well. 2. The Woodlands. Placed second last year and returns 5 guys. They are gonna do big things for an alum who passed away in a car accident. Chance Gibson. 3. Atascocita. Placed 4th last year and returns 5 guys and a 4:31 guy. All will be seniors. 4. Prosper. Returns all scorers after finishing 8th last year. 5. Coppell. Another senior heavy team. Didn’t make state last year (lost to Prosper at regions) and returns a 4:25 1600 average. They didn’t graduate anyone from last year. 6. Houston Strake Jesuit. Placed 10th last year. Returns 4 of their top 5 and another 4:30 guy. 7. Clute Brazoswood. Placed 9th last year and returns 5 of their top 6. 8. Austin Vandegrift. Placed 14th. Returns 4 guys and a 9:43 guy who didn’t run at state. Will be lead by Kevin “8:50” Sanchez. 9. El Paso Franklin. Returns 9:24, 9:42, 9:43, and 10:01 guys. Needs to find a #5. 10. Wylie. Placed 5th last year but loses two important scorers. Returns 5.
Most those 9th graders listed are going to Marcus not Flower Mound
If I got it right now then Forestwood Middle School, McKamy Middle School, and Shadow Ridge Middle School feed Flower Mound. Flower Mound freshman will be...
Elle Hall
Next year a few more coming up that are 8th graders this year...
Southlake hosted their track 1600 to open the season. Mostly Southlake runners with a few others from Keller, Coppell etc. Not the fastest conditions 92 degrees and humidity still in the 40'%s.
