Hard to imagine another team will ever pull off the 1-2-3-6 at a national meet again, however Newbury park is returning the 2-3-6 of that equation this coming XC season in Leo Young, Lex Young, and Aaron Sahlman. The twins were undefeated last xc by everyone not wearing yellow and black, and the only two outsiders (4 flat miler Zane Bergen and Footlocker champ Riley Hough) able to beat Aaron have both since graduated.
From the results of the '21 season, another medal sweep would look almost inevidable in 2022. However during outdoor several top juniors have ran faster over the mile than all 3 of these Panthers, and a handful have ran faster than Aaron in the 3200.
Do the likes of Burns, Birnbaum, Caudillo or any of the other rising stars from this spring have what it takes to interrupt Newbury's trifecta of top scorers?
