Yep to me his demeanor at the Olympics vs here was a lot different. Olympics he seemed like a kinda goofy kid that was out there having a good time. Now he's gone emo with maybe some of the pressure placed on him.
It's obvious that Erriyon was upset about the classless taunting and that showed in many of the questions, starting from the on-track interview after the race.
"Classless taunting" lolol
The level of taunting and disrespect by Lyles happens 5-10 times per game at the Saturday afternoon run i play in with the college/post-college kids on campus (that's basketball for you dweebs).
T&F raises such coddled athletes and fans, it's comical. And now all out in the open & evident by EKs inability to handle a little taunting, and the hissy fits people are throwing on this here thread. Go outside you private school nerds.
For science sake, an entire damn arena was chanting "F*ck you Draymond" at a mutlimiliinaore professional athlete, and he handled it 1000x better than Charmin soft Mr. Knighton AND Mr. Lyles (who backtracked and could even own up to what he was doing). Like wtf is this sport lol.
Yeah I actually didn’t think it was a bad question. Maybe could have been worded more constructively but easy to say that in hindsight when you know the reaction.
Ironic he labeled the question as “disrespectful” since Lyle’s actions were!
For the record, I meant no disrespect to Erriyon (and told him as much off-camera afterwards). I don't regret asking about the Lyles point -- I think every track fan was interested to know how Erriyon felt about it and it would have been irresponsible on my part not to ask. My only regret is maybe I could have worded the question a little better. Maybe say something like: "Noah made a gesture when he crossed the finish line. It looked like he was pointing at you. What did you think about that?"
(From my angle watching the race live, it looked as if Lyles was pointing at Knighton, even though it does appear he was pointing past him on the replay)
We also have to remember that even though he's been to the Olympics, Erriyon is still only 18 years old. So I'm not going to judge him too harshly based on how he reacts to a defeat.
Jonathan, how did he react when you clarified your comments off camera?
The trash talking are sometimes socially immature people who learn it at a young age, and continue even as an adult because they dont learn social skills. Their social development was s a bit behind. They're the 17,18 year old kids in high school who run through the halls playing grab ass with the girls.
A simple game of basketball easily turns into a fight, and sometimes somebody getting shot.
They often have trouble as adults developing lasting relationships, though as they get older, they do and can develop social skills and begin to relate better.

LOL you just proved my point that none of you dweeebs have ever played team sports like basketball & football where trash talking is the norm AND the people talking sh*t to each other DONT TAKE IT PERSONAL like EK did. It's part of the competitive experience (unlike the coddled t&f experience).
This reporter getting dragged might as well be you. I bet he's so glad Dray and Grant didn't shoot each other after all the sh*t they talked nonstop all Finals 😂😂😂
I don’t understand why this is weird? Guys jaw every series. They also mostly respect each other and show that after series are over. Seems rather common. https://t.co/BQWMuzoEkc
I think his interviews are great. Usually a few words, comes off a little cocky but not a jerk. You need to have that fire to be a great sprinter. There's nothing disrespectful about how he answered any questions.

(Your "somebody getting shot" comment still boggles my mind....like where are you from lol???)
Except here Lyles never gave Erriyon a hug after the race. In fact he continued to talk trash during the post race interviews. In basketball they are just trying to get in each other's head.
It looked like to me, and obviously to Erriyon, Lyle's actions were malicious. Lyle's tweet after was just a pathetic attempt at damage control.

Yeah, you get a pass on this one. It's the shameful slurping of Shelby that you lost our respect on.
Nah, he's just a kid. He doesn't know how to answer interview questions well. He's not articulate and probabaly lacks self-confidence.
Don’t make sh!t up. Knighton is as articulate as they come. Especially in the sprints world. He stands shoulders above most others in that respect. He has a good head. Makes good decisions. Works hard. He’s young and still learning and that’s it. To say he’s not articulate is patently false. When your teammate blasts you on an international stream while he’s standing next to you is incredibly disrespectful. We should be thankful Kingston had the balls to even stop and answer questions.
Lyles straight up disrespects Knighton to his face in the post-race interview. And, Knighton does nothing but storm off in a hissy fit. Then, he finally grows a spine later only to snap back at lil' JG? Come on, man.
"Knighton says the question is 'so disrespectful'" appears to be your characterization, not his, which is why "the question is" is not in quotes. It's not at all clear that he's talking about the question rather than the finger pointing, which was the action at issue.
