Any chance you can share examples? It’ll be very interesting to know what NIL money XC kids are stepping into just by picking a school where it is available.
This is a great question. I can’t remember the exact quote Duane Ross and/or Sean Carlson made in their initial press conference….but it was to the effect of “We are changing the way things are approached in the NCAA. We hope no one else figures it out”.
So what are they doing? Just glancing at that list of recruits, I would guesstimate there would need to be about 6-8 scholarships put into those women alone. I am guessing they wouldn’t eat up 1/2 their scholarships on one women’s distance recruiting year so what are they doing to make this work? NIL? Does everyone get funding like they are doing at BYU? Are they just outright cheating the system?
