Fisher, Kincaid, Klecker, Mantz, McGorty, Teare could all take down the HM record right now. All 6 are more talented than Wanders and he went 59:13. Fisher could probably take it down to 58 flat.
Relax.. he won't debut in 2:08, please be realistic.. He might hang with Reed Fischer in 2:10-11.
. Mantz beat Frank by a lot at the aforementioned half marathon race in December, and a month later Frank debuted 2:11 at Houston going out at 2:08 pace, and slowing way down in the middle, and rallying a bit. You should expect better than that from Mantz.
Not discrediting anyone, but I'm pretty sure Frank Lara had to drop a load in na porta potty mid race, but i see your point.
Mantz takes down Kipchoge (if he's running)in his debut at NYC.
I hope Mantz specifies the marathon he’s running soon so Kipchoge can continue to dodge him. Notice that Kipchoge keeps avoiding running in the Houston half? What’s with him? Such a huge hole in his resume. I keep wanting to think of Kipchoge as the distance 🐐, but how can you when he’s too chicken to mix it up with the best.

What’s the km mark at which each of these American stars goes out the back of Kipchoge’s lead pack in Japan this past summer or spring? How many of them can last 35 km? Who would get farthest in a war of attrition?

Have people watched Kipchoge and Mantz run? How much extra energy does Mantz have to expend per km because of his form? Forget the vast differences in natural ability, Mantz is swimming upstream right out of the gate.

If a marathoner doesn’t stack up to Kipchoge, there’s no point in even competing.
