Yes, there are too many idiots here, and you are one of them.
Sydney simply doesn't have the foot speed to run sub 48. And no one else in history been able to run sub 48 either, unless they were on a massive amount of steroids.
Syd has a faster 100 PR than Kratochvilova
Sydney has never run a wind legal 100.
But comparing Sydney in the 200 to the only two women that have run sub 48 in the 400, their best wind legal times are:
22.39 - Sydney
21.97 - Kratochvilova
21.71 - Koch
Not very close.
Even if you go further down the all time 400 list, you have Marie-Jose Perec 21.99/48.25 and Shaunae Miller-Uibo 21.74/48.36.
So like I said, Sydney doesn't have the foot speed to run sub 48 in the 400.

Her 200PR is from 2018 when she was still in high school. She can run much faster now. What were those runners running when they were 17 or 18 years old?
You skipped Salwa Eid Naser, 48.14 in the 400 but Syd has better PB's over 100m and 200m.
She's run 12.65 in the 100 hurdles, which is very fast. That would be tied for 20th in the world right now. Foot speed is not an issue for her.

Sydney's 200 PR of 22.39 is from college, not high school.
Salwa Eid Nasser had PR's of 22.51 and 49.08. Then she decided to use drugs, skipped a bunch of drug tests, then ran 48.14 WHILE she was being investigated, and then got suspended. Good riddance.
Also:
Valerie Brisco-Hooks - 21.81 / 48.83
Chandra Cheeseborough - 21.99 / 49.06
Sanya Richards-Ross - 22.09 / 48.70
Allyson Felix - 21.69 / 49.26
Sydney ran a 400 in college, and she couldn't break 50 seconds. Sydney ran leadoff on a 4x400 as a pro at Mt SAC Relays in 2019, and she couldn't break 50 seconds.
Sydney ran a Diamond League 400 race as a pro in 2019 and she couldn't break 50 seconds. Sydney ran a 400 last year and she couldn't break 50 seconds. Sydney ran lead off on the 4x400 at the Olympics last year, and guess what? Once again, she couldn't break 50 seconds.
Could Sydney run sub 50 at some point this year? Probably.
But sub 48? Absolutely not.
Once again, the only 2 women in history who broke 400 were A) sub 22 200m runners, and B) on a large amount of steroids. Sydney is neither of those things.
And FYI, 100h speed isn't directly related to 100 flat speed, so her 100h PR has nothing to do with it.
Sorry that your "Sydney sub 48 bubble" has been burst.

Didn't the announcers say that Syd's coach said that after worlds they were going after the 400m record? I'm not saying she will get it but if they are gonna focus on the Flatt 400
Here is a 5-woman match race I'd love to see over 400: In no particular order. Assuming perfect conditions, how do they finish? What times would we see? Athing Mu (49.57, 48.32 relay) Sydney McLaughlin (50.07, 49.96 relay) Abby Steiner (48.92 relay leg) Shaunae Miller-Uibo (48.36, relay?) Dalilah Muhammad (50.60, 48.94 relay) Shericka Jackson (49.57, relay ?
she would run a flat 400 in close to 49 seconds, perhaps 49.2 at her best.i remember she ran her leg in the 4X 400 relay in 49.9 last year in the olympics, and that was the first leg.
Didn't the announcers say that Syd's coach said that after worlds they were going after the 400m record? I
Yes, the announcer claimed that Sydney's coach said she was going after the 400 record. But even her coach doesn't believe that Sydney can get close to 47.60.
The good news is that as long as Sydney stays healthy she will most likely run a flat 400 at some point this summer.
And then when Sydney isn't even in the ballpark of sub 48, all the delusional people on here who believe Sydney can break the world record of 47.60 will stop with their dumb posts.
23.5 plus 24.00 is 47.5 or 12.0 + 11.5 + 11.8 =12.0 = 47.3 not very difficult for Syd or Athing. Both are capable 100 meter splits. That's going out in 23.5 and coming home
in 23.8. Bobby Kersey has been around track and field for a good while . He totally understands that this is doable. Freddie used to have his girls, including Grace Jackson train with the men
at Boys High Field in the late sixties. She ran 21.77 behind Flo-Jos 21.34. This is challenging
If it were not that difficult, why have only 2 women in history broken 48 seconds? You still have to deal with large lactic acid buildup to content with going out in 23.5 seconds.

Not to mention arguably two of the most doped up athletes in the history of the sport, men OR women.
I'm actually surprised the 400mh isn't significantly faster. 11.07W 22.3 with 12.65 hurdling speed should really get her 400 differential to something like 49.00 + 1.5-2 which would be 50.0-50.5.
First of all, Sydney's PR in the 400 is 50.07, not 49.0.
And adding only 1.5 seconds for the hurdles to a woman's 400 flat time is almost impossible for any woman to do. Probably the only woman in history who can do slightly under 2.0 seconds added for the hurdles is Dalilah Muhammad.
You are using faulty numbers, which makes your conclusion faulty.
Jackie Joyner-Kersee had 200 and 100h times almost identical to Sydney McLaughlin. So if your theory was correct, than Jackie Joyner-Kersee could have run sub 51 in the 400h, when in fact she wasn't even in the ballpark.
That 50.07 pr is from an early season race she ran at 19 when she almost beat the Olympic gold medalist Salwa Eid Nasser in that race. Her 400h pr is now over a minute faster, I would assume she is over a minute faster in the 400m somewhere around 49 flat.

Your comparing her times when she was no where near as fast as she is today:
Sydney's 400m open PR is 50.07 from March of 2018. Not where near prime condition for outdoor season, during her one and only collegiate track season at Kentucky, and and over 4 years ago. She can go well under 50, maybe 49.5-49.7.
