That is not fair. S. Richardson's 200m P.B. is 22.00, inferior to her 100m personal best. She sprinted 22.47 in semifinal today. Twenty-two.47 is not bombing. Short sprinters have to work harder and expend more energy than taller sprinters, especially in 200m. A 5'1" female sprinter is similar to a 5'7" male sprinter. Shorter sprinters tend to do well at 60 yards or 60m, often a bit worse at 100 yards or 100m and significantly worse at 200m or 220 yards. It is rare for very short female sprinters under ideal conditions to sprint as well at 200m as 100m. Young female athletes often under perform for obvious reasons. Do you have a wife/sisters/daughters?
I rewatched the race and set the play speed to 0.5. SR was late getting out of the blocks. Have a look. It might have played into the result.
Yes, she was slow getting out of the blocks. Maybe that cost her .05 which would have put her in the final.
But she still wouldn't have run fast enough in the final to make the team.
The questions presented soon will be similar to the following: Can I get gravy on the side? or Do this place have public restaurants? or Can I speak to your manager?
She likes to have a chip on her shoulder that's it's her against the world.
How about she just starts acting normal? Then people wouldn't be giving her so much flak.
Arrogance personified and nothing more. Totally FULL of herself. Act like that and spend time reading comments about yourself, that's what you get. Yes, she reads this forum and anything else about herself to pump up her huge ego. Hi ShaCarrogant!
I'd be upset too if every time I had a bad race there were dozens of threads made with terrible comments about me.
95% of the athletes at USAs lost. But they don't have terrible comments about them.
So maybe it's something else about Sha'Carri Richardson that is causing negative comments. Smoking marijuana, blaming the media for reporting the facts about her races, threatening to sue people, etc. She causes her own problems.
She sure does get a lot of attention for someone who didn't run in any finals.
Does she get the attention because everyone sees her potential and wants to root for her, but the drama...
Talent. Take out the ups and downs, the drama, and she could be right there with Abby Steiner. Isn't there a similarity in form/ high cadence?
"Take out the ups and downs"? One could say that about a lot of athletes. "Let's just look at their outlier performance and determine how great they are"!
