Like in the semis, she blasted the first 100, and ate the last 50. If that’s just a conditioning thing, then she could contend at worlds. But yeah the US W200m looks relatively weak except for Steiner, which is surprising.
stands pretty empty all meet, just like diamond and ncaa meets. my guess is world's will be as bad or worse. poor announcing , jumping clock, injection of trivial notes instead of announcing the race.
shows the state of track here is not great. at world's most winners will be foreigners and distance events dominated by east africans so many american viewers could care less. ticket prices will have to come down.
Sprints are hard and fraught with injury, so nobody does them, so nobody can identify with the events or athletes.
Same with jumps and throws.
Distance is something some fitness types do to stay in shape, but they couldn’t care less about racing. For them, watching track would be like watching the world erg championship, or the world stairmaster champs.
It’s really just kids and ex-athletes who watch, and only kids and family who attend live. Like weightlifting, diving, swimming, wrestling, etc.
