Is this whole site technologically illiterate? Nearly every race is on youtube and most were streamed (by thai names) on youtube with a ~5 minute delay.
By Fauble’s logic, Teare should not have performed well either since they basically had identical seasons in terms of the races/time trials they did and their training.
But yet Teare won a highly tactical (“real”?) race today.
Hence, it’s almost as if the main factor at play for Hocker was that he—and not Teare—was negotiating training around an injury for the two weeks leading up to this meet and NOT his racing schedule… 🤔💭

It's those Thai names that make you tube confusing.
According to RoJo, it’s Teare (top 3 & WCS), Thompson (top 3 & high-enough world ranking), and Gregorek (WCS).
Davis, Holt, and Brown do not have the standard or a high enough world ranking.
Not positive that he’s correct but that sounds plausible.
So stupid, though.
Any country that has at least 3 people meeting the standard should be able to send the top 3 from their national championships regardless of whether they met the standard themselves.
Tough luck for Wynne. Would have been difficult for him to make the team anyway but looks like he got tripped with just under 100 to go. Bummer, definitely his best chance to make it he's had recently. Still got a few good years left in him though
I didn’t see Wynne get tripped at all. He just faded hard down the home stretch.
Fauble called out Teare too? Anyways, Teare has way more racing experience than Hocker. Not quite comparable.
No, Fauble didn’t call out Teare.
That’s my point.

Actually, looking back at Fauble’s follow-up tweet, he DID call out Teare as well:
“That’s the point dog. He’s awesome. He’s so so talented. Both he and Teare are. We want them to carry US mid d running into the future. But when they dodge real races over and over again to run TTs and then blow it tactically at USAs, I think it’s fair to criticize that.”

Not only because Teare totally blew up that logic today, but also because Hocker didn’t lose because of poor tactics. He had the best position and was in the lead with 50m to go. Fully fit, he wins that race handily 99 times out of 100 (and he advances with a big Q 100 times out of 100) with exactly those same tactics.
Completely agree. I want track to be televised and I want access to replays. Paying a reasonable price (and getting all else Peacock by the way) is the way to get there. Keeps them making sure I get to see my T&F and keeps me happy.
Wow! Great job Cooper Teare. Kicking with confidence! Sub-38 final 300m for the win places Cooper Teare with very few men: Fermin Cacho, John Walker, Jim Ryun, maybe others.
True, I am glad he won, but his tactics were very terrible. I do not feel confident that he can get a medal at worlds. I watched this race and was not impressed at all. But I am glad he won.

Actually completely agree with that last statement. Never thought of that before, but imo it makes sense. Let’s say there’s a 1500 final with 12 people. If 11 of those twelve people have the standard, but the one dude that doesn’t wins the race, he should make it onto the world team.
What is the title of the post on about? Teare is absolutely clueless. He outsprinted a shaggy group of national level caliber runners but was lucky to do so. He was boxed again, after having a personal pacer and could not feel that the pace was slowing and the competition was coming to box him in, again. He needs to watch his past races and use the big screen to his advantage. Not impressed.
