it would appear he needs to go back to whatever he was doing last year. staying uber fit for 8 straight months. whatever he is doing this year is obviously not working for him. not sure if they're trying to be too cute, or what.
if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
How do you know he's not doing many of the same things and it's just not clicking? This sh*t is fickle man, too many inputs to ever nail down why it goes good or goes bad. We've all been in slumps when doing similar training to when we are killing it.
The guys on the '85 Bears all say (in hindsight) that the best thing that happened to them that season was to lose that game to Miami in week 13. It was a reality check for them - they realized they needed to refocus and never let it happen again. Some of the guys think they may not have won the Super Bowl without losing that game.
So sometimes a bad result can be a blessing in disguise. Maybe this can be a learning experience for Hocker and he can correct the mistakes going forward to avoid making them again.
he'll be back , to much talent not to be . Seems covid affects everyone differently and some seem to suffer glandular fever type symptoms .. nothing in the tank today but everything in the tank the next day . wouldnt suprise if he made the 5k team
The guy just pulled five other runners to a lightning fast 1500 m! Probably a few guys had a personal record along the way! He led for 99% of the race! Sorry guys it's not all about making the finals or winning I mean the guy started and helped create an incredible race.!!! It was pretty epic in my book and the guy is still a legend
Honestly I don't even think he was worried about the finals I think he was like let's go out and have a good run and let's work on our speed! There's plenty of time for running more in the future he was focused on leaving those young men to some fast laps
It's weird the way people want to criticize a guy who just probably have one of the greatest moments of pacing in history! Most pacers drop out after half a race the guy let a group of young men to a incredible effort

Couldn't agree more he was like a young veteran! Like a veteran pleading those men to greatness! God bless!
if a quarterback has a terrible game and costs his team the win do you stick a mic in his face immediately afterwards? give him a little time to process it at least.
Ummmm….yes, that is exactly what happens. Those leagues have interview requirements written into their cba’s, so what you’ve described happens literally every week of the nfl season.

This is the way I saw it too! Another epic performance... Honestly he might have been thinking hey I'm not going to meddle at the world championship so let's let some other guys go who also win a medal! Which is pretty damn brilliant!!
An off day was Jakob losing to Tefera at world indoors and getting silver. Hocker today was a whole other level of off day. He’s our 21/22 1500 national indoor and outdoor champion, Olympic finalist with a 3:31 pr. He ran 3:39 high and failed to advance to the final. He got beat by B and C team pros. That’s not an off day, that’s a disaster.
You're sounding simply like an old man rather than wise.
Obviously Cole didn’t have a good performance but FloTrack is trash. A 20 year old doesn’t owe you an explanation especially when they have another race the same weekend
Give Hocker a break, he's a great runner. Didn't work out tonight. I'm sure he'll learn something here and carry it forward. We'll be seeing Hocker for a long time.

Listen, I’m a Hocker fan, but as a pro he does owe the fans an explanation. We pay his salary. It’s simply part of the deal.
I guess this sport is so small everyone takes things personally. Thought he was making a point, speaking the truth like an NBA commentator would. Yes, he's still an athlete but it's not his event. This is why the boards have to remain anonymous, even though having one sign-in would be fine. No one would be able to say anything without a comeback like, dude, you didn't even make the Olympics.
