Why should any of us care about a “character” who consistently fails to live up to the hype? She’s a cartoon character who runs. Great. But now that she’s failed to advance, she’s just a cartoon character.
I have seen millions of sprinters over the year, give me somrthing different, unique, Richardson brings that, yep.....entertaining.
No one, who didn’t watch track before, is tuning in to watch her run. Maybe there are a few outliers, but it’s just not happening. She’s not a larger than life character and she isn’t all that successful. It takes a Usain Bolt type athlete to turn a random person into a casual partaker of track, and even then most people only watch the Olympics.
Slow down my man, what if she shows up big in the 200m, now what?
Track needs more athletes like her and less like Allyson Felix who bores me to tears, give us somebody to talk about, yep....just like we are doing now.
Mike Farmer wore one long black sock and stood a few feet out in front of his blocks, He made it very clear.....look a me. So what do see want to see, yep, hope he loses. He rarely did back then in his HS days.
Track needs characters, we have that wit this wee smoker, I like it.

First of all, she still has the 200m so slow down.
How many sprinters have come and gone over the years, yep...TONS. Why not have somebody who brings something a little different, why have the same old thing over and over again, yep......yawn~~~~ The girl brings some peronality she is excitiing this is great for a sport that can use all the excitement it can get.
I want what is best for the sport, trust me it is not.....here is Allyson with her daughter, it is however a weed smoker all decked out in some funky out fit.
I;d much rather watch Richardson compete than Felix.
I’d prefer to watch winners. But that’s just me.
I want to be entertained, I have seen all the winners I need since the late 50's. I need something to talk about she provides that.

She was in a Beats By Dre ad after she got her ban. You can’t say she isn’t catching the attention of people outside of track.

Anyone who has seen the girl run has been entertained she makes it fun. She is an exciting athlete, this is a good thing.

Track can use some interesting athletes, trust me watching Allyson with her kid........nay!!!! The sport needs some excitement she brings that, track needs that.
There’s a difference between interesting and obnoxious

I said she isn’t increasing the viewership of track. Her story after getting busted was controversial since it revolved around the Olympics. Since that time, there has been little talk. Like I said, people pay attention to this stuff around Olympic time, other than that it’s a bit of a drag. I like running but I’m not watching it on tv.
We have how many sprinters to follow in these trials, do they all have to be the same, why? The girl has how many threads here, how about the others, well?

Narcissists are often entertaining because they are desperate for attention. She does get attention.
You say she is good for the sport. That’s a fine assertion, but you need to be able to support it with facts. Maybe there is a statistically significant increase in viewership with her racing, I just haven’t seen those numbers. She had a controversial news cycle ahead of the Olympics and since then I’m not sure people who never watched track have tuned in to watch her run.
SCR out of the 100, good. Now we can focus on real athletes without the distraction. Maybe Steiner should have competed—with SCR out, she had a fair shot at a relay spot.
Even if SCR tries the 2, she will die. Her last 200m was horrible.
WTF is with her? Did Gatlin have any insight?
Maybe she is running “clean” because she knows that she in particular will be under scrutiny. How many times have I said on this board that she is an 11.3 talent, and BAM 💥 11.31 (0.4). If that is the case, there is no shame in that.
