Maybe. Probably. You know that 40-50/week isn't working. So, try something else.
There are certainly some world-class women who do low mileage plus cross training -- Eilish McColgan and Colleen Quigley, for example. They run more than 30/week, but their run volume is a lot lower than most. There is plenty of information about their training on the web.
