Inclusion is a horrible goal for a sport class that exists solely for reasons of fairness. If inclusion was really the most important thing there would only be a single combined category with both men and women.
you know how I know that the trans activist argument is a good one? Because the only retort you have for it is: “WhY nOt LeT aN eLePhAnT pLaY gOaLiE?!?! 🤪🤪🤪”
We’re talking about human beings.
This is another cheap dodge. Pick the thing you can spin as the goofiest argument and ignore the rest. He must be crazy, he’s talking about elephants. Actually I think we’re talking about men and women, and you haven’t shown that trans women are women, or alternatively why it doesn’t matter that they aren’t women as pertains to women’s sports. Get to work on that, it seems vaguely important to your overall position on this issue.
There are countless ways that I can prove that transwomen are women. I could refer to their birth certificates, drivers licenses, social security cards. I could ask them which bathroom they use. I could pretty much consult any other legal form that asks for gender.
You’re envisioning a reality where someone is female for 22 hours out of the day, but when they play soccer they magically turn “male” and then magically turn back to female after.
They are women when they go to sleep. They are women when they wake up and go to work. They are women at lunchtime. And yes, they are women when they kick a soccer ball.
I recall a news item in which it was reported that a boys team beat the national women's side. It would seem then that Megan Rapinoe or a team member could possibly lose their place in the side to a 15 year old boy who identifies as female. That's a strange way for Ms Rapinoe to champion women's sport.
If it is wrong if the whole women's team is made up of males - which you say will never happen, so I assume you would be opposed to it if it was - then what makes it acceptable of some of the team are males, or even just one or two?
You assume incorrectly. If an entire team was made up of transwomen, I would not care. I also don’t care if there are one or two.
Do you think MR would care if she never got to play for USWNT because it was all trans or got stomped by another all-trans team?

Which chromosomes and hormones (like testosterone) are they using to kick a soccer ball, not to mention the anatomical features - muscles, bigger bones and aerobic capacity - they developed when they went through puberty? None of these are available to their female competitors.
2022 and humanity still is full of highly disturbing follies. Humans are an incredibly flawed species. Almost as if we've slightly evolved from apes or something. How can Megan Rapinoe freely spout dangerous and destructive drivel which is celebrated, yet others are canceled for telling the truth or attempting to help others because it does not fit the narrative of the week What? What a sickening reality.
I want to say at the outset that I agree with Fina’s ruling. I’ll be interested to see if any governing bodies in swimming or other sports try to apply these rules to lower levels of competition. Isn’t there always a tension between inclusion and fairness in sport, and don’t we have different rules governing these issues at different levels of competition? Do you all propose that 9th graders show proof of karyotyping and sry gene testing and have a genital exam before embarking on HS sports? If not, why not? Are we going to accept the word of an athlete’s pediatrician or do we need an impartial examiner? Would it be fair if a DSD XY PAIS male was on the HS JV girls’ soccer team? How about random performance enhancing drug testing for HS sports in America? If not, why not? Too intrusive, too expensive, too low a yield? But I’m sure there are a few HS athletes out their cheating with PEDs. I think it’s reasonable to at least consider whether or not the rules of participation and fairness adopted for elite competition should be the same as for HS or youth sports. I think this is MR’s point. Inclusion can trump fairness sometimes, and other times, no it shouldn’t.

LMFAO. If they were actual women, you wouldn't have to ask any of those questions to determine their sex. And do us a favor... go take a look at your social security card then let us know what gender it says you are.
If these kids are going to kill themselves over something so trivial (such as an "unimportant volleyball team"), then they are obviously suffering from a mental illness. MR is very brave to point this out!
First of all, the OP is a proven liar by starting this thread and then misrepresenting what Megan said. Second, the fact that you clowns perform a circle jerk upvoting each other’s ignorance is truly a testament to the contagious nature of stupidity. When I see how only the intelligent get supremely downvoted in this thread, it makes me realize I do not belong here.

But how so, if “she” has an XY chromosome pattern, has a penis (or had to remove it), etc.? Why does going into a bathroom satisfy you, but their genetics and bodily makeup not?
I think you’re doing more bad faith by acting like we think they’re just switching for the sports. We’re asking why a choice of bathroom or a mark on a drivers license is stronger proof that biological reality - which is what “man” “woman” and other categories are actually based on? Unless you think the distinctions only arose in peoples minds once separate bathrooms were invented (or any of the other things you cite as proof).
Yes, I know. But females who say they "identify as" boys and men are not horning in and dominating in male sports and spaces in anywhere near the same numbers - or in the same ways - that males who say they "identify as" girls and women are horning in and dominating in female sports and spaces. In fact, AFAIK no female who "identifies as" the opposite sex has ever won a single event, award or title in boys' or men's sports.
The vast majority of young females who've adopted opposite-sex gender identities today don't do sports at all because they are not physically fit or mentally in good enough shape for sports. The minority that do participate in sports are usually opting to continue competing in girls' and women's sports. Because they have learned that even after taking high-dose exogenous T for years, females aren't competitive against males in sports.
This is illustrated by the case of wrestler Mack Beggs, a trans-identified female who participated in HS girls' wrestling in Texas jacked up on T and won several state titles as a result. When Beggs went to college at Life University, Beggs joined the men's wrestling team. In theory at least. Although Beggs appeared on the men's wrestling roster, the fact is that aside from one exhibition match, Beggs never actually competed in any men's wrestling events. Beggs gave up college wrestling after junior year, supposedly to focus on other interests.
Iszac Henig of Yale, the other trans swimmer at this year's NCAA championships who didn't get nearly the same amount of attention as Lia Thomas, is typical of what many young "trans men" in sports today are doing. Henig decided to postpone "medical transition" until Henig's swimming career was over because taking exogenous testosterone would make Henig ineligible for women's competition.
BTW, no no one had or has a problem with athletes like Henig competing in girls' or women's sports so long as they eschew taking exogenous T. Because athletes like Henig are female and thus belong in women's and girls' sports.
AFAICT, female student athletes like Henig who now say they "identify as" boys/men are generally continuing to use female locker rooms, changing facilities and showers - and to bunk alongside others of their own sex in sleeping quarters when their teams travel too.
What about more general issues of access? Do you support trans males being excluded from male spaces such as male locker rooms, all male organizations should they want access?Take the hypothetical of an all male a cappella group in college. Should the group be allowed to deny admission to a trans male on the basis of biological sex? Maybe the group would select this individual because they can sing at a higher register than biological men because of a biological “advantage” of a higher pitch usually present in biological females, and thereby denying access to an otherwise worthy biological male. Should this sort of thing be barred by college rule from trying out? It would have to work both ways…..

I upvoted you, because I don't find this sort of behavior (whining and name calling) to be a mark of intelligence, and I figured I'd contribute to the spirit of the thread (as you claim to see it).

Nobody has provided an intelligent refutation of Megan’s comment on this thread. I am waiting but of course it will not happen because it cannot happen. The fact that most of you cannot see that speaks volumes.
