you know how I know that the trans activist argument is a good one? Because the only retort you have for it is: “WhY nOt LeT aN eLePhAnT pLaY gOaLiE?!?! 🤪🤪🤪”
The volleyball team isn't that important, but fairness is that important. Yes, we need to find a way to be fair to transgender athletes, but not at the expense of all female athletes.
Ever heard of intramurals? That is the intent of intramurals. It's disrespectful towards female athletes to denigrate their sports the way you are. I don't hear you making arguments that male sports should have to make similar concessions. It would be like saying you are okay with males who identify as superheroes by taking fist fulls of PEDs because it fits their identity to compete with clean male athletes. It would be unfair to those clean male athletes to do so (and quite honestly, the performance edge of a doped athlete is a couple percentage points, for a transgender athlete, it is closer to 7-10%).
By far the most common trans manifestation in teens is female-to-male, and has increased massively with recent media influence in that group, evidentiary that trans is a social much more than innate phenomenon.
She is right in a number of ways. We take high school sports way too seriously in the US. It is no wonder that there are so many problems with athlete burnout and suicide in college. Kids are training like pros from the time they are in middle school. It is ruining scholastic sports which are really supposed to be able building character and learning about teamwork. Instead, every kid goes through some variation of a Bela Karolyi system for their sport. It is then no wonder that parents and students completely lose it at the idea of a trans girl competing on a girl's team. Being inclusive of trans girls is way more important than whether Brittany's softball team makes it to state.

...or Recreational leagues at younger ages. The argument that "we" take any level of sport too seriously makes no sense since we take it seriously and thus should create rules which honor those who participate in the two categories which currently divide sporting groups...girls and boys. Let males who want to play girls sports play JV if necessary. That might not work as well because JV coaches...often varsity assistants....may not play those not eligible for the next level per the instructions of the varsity coach which will give the Rapinoe's of the world something else to cry about.
Telling teenage girls they should consider their athletics unimportant because someone might kill themselves if they don't get to join their team is quite the message.
The context of this subject is that she is mocking the law makers taking the time and effort to pass legislation that has much less impact than more serious legislation that could save lives.
In other words:
Passing a law that will stop a couple of boys from playing with girls.
Vs.
Passing a law that will stop a couple of psychos from shooting up random groups of people.

But another poster on the previous page has already refuted that argument. If it is unfair in the Olympics, it is unfair in the municipal softball league. No level of competition is "low" enough to accept what he calls cheating. And that view has been endorsed by multiple posters on this board.
I wonder how she would feel if the entire woman’s soccer team was made up of biological males?
That has never and will never happened. You’re upset about something your mind made up. You’re acting like a toddler.
If it is wrong if the whole women's team is made up of males - which you say will never happen, so I assume you would be opposed to it if it was - then what makes it acceptable of some of the team are males, or even just one or two?

I don't particularly care what others may have refuted.....or think they did.
I see two big problems with the issue as currently framed by trans activists:
(1) "It's only a few people, it doesn't matter." Yes, it does matter. Take it to its absurdest possible conclusion. "Most soccer teams aren't putting an elephant bigger than the entire goal in at goalie, to just sit there and make it impossible to score, so who cares if one team decided to do it?"

We’re talking about human beings.
This is another cheap dodge. Pick the thing you can spin as the goofiest argument and ignore the rest. He must be crazy, he’s talking about elephants. Actually I think we’re talking about men and women, and you haven’t shown that trans women are women, or alternatively why it doesn’t matter that they aren’t women as pertains to women’s sports. Get to work on that, it seems vaguely important to your overall position on this issue.

It has nothing to do with taking school sports "too seriously". Is fair competition not a principle that is integral to sports at any level? It appears that in your book it only applies to male sports. Of course, if the inclusivity advocates have their way then all sports effectively become male sports - the best "girls/women" will inevitably be male.

Sure, we are talking about human beings. But in a girls team only some of them will be female.

You assume incorrectly. If an entire team was made up of transwomen, I would not care. I also don’t care if there are one or two.

So it's ok if some if the team will be male? Why not - they'll be the biggest, fastest and strongest players - quite a bonus for the team. But bad luck for those girls who don't make the cut because of the blokes.
