Heins makes sense. He didn’t seem to be doing much at Louisville but ND puts him back in the limelight with minimal work. Solid coach that gives ND a chance to not lose too many.
It strikes me that the successful candidate must buy into Notre Dame. Not a negative comment on a fine school. But buying into the culture seems significant.

Notre Dame won't be hiring Heins. Sparks will become the Men's HC. Look for them to bring in a Midwest-based assistant.
Honestly, this isn't far off. It will likely be somebody connected to Danny Mackey that will come in as the assistant. Current assistant Baylee Mires was a former Brooks Beast member. I've heard that Sparks and Mackey have a good relationship.

I could see that. Biggest question would be if he's willing to be under Sparks and what kind of relationship they have. I'm sure their paths have crossed.
