The fact that he is a front of the pack runner does make it hard (I'd say almost impossible that he is cheating), unless we are to assume that all the people in the video are in on it? I mean that would be quite a conspiracy. I wonder if he is Spec Ops? The fact that Dan Lenz knew him would suggest so and he did mention he was awarded an Army badge for combat at Conoco, Syria (this is what i found out about that battle : https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/24/world/middleeast/american-commandos-russian-mercenaries-syria.html )...
Yeah, but as I said the front guys are unedr the spotlight. Again, he is not some mediocre dude who can hide in the pack...
Font "guys"? Kind of give yourself away there. No they are not "under a spot light". He was running all on his own with nobody watching him. Also, given the second place guy finished 4 hours behind him, for a race with 40 people, how many bikes are you suggesting are out there following the various people? There are none.
You can watch this video - no marshals and certainly no bike marshal following anyone, and specifically not him on a bike.
I'm not saying he cheated, but your posts are not true, which is weird.
Hm, so you are saying that at the Boogie where they had course marshals and bike marshals (I know for sure since I was there supporting Dan Lenz) and at all those other races where they probably had course and/or bike marshals neither the organizers, nor the marshals, nor the other runners noticed anything??? We are not talking about somebody who can get lost in the middle of the pack, but a leader/front-runner/top finisher here. Usually the top guys are under the microscope in every race?
Plus, he recently did a 9:05 2-miles (while training, not even racing with Army WCAP), under the supervision of Army guys and with other runners he was lapping. The post is on Facebook:
As well as the video which can also be found here:
So, tell me again how does he chat??? Wait, do you happen to be a female, Mal Arkey? One that is offended because he called you fat, or by just not giving you the time of day. He seemed nice at the race, but many of those top runners can be quite arrogant and don't care about offending people...
Umm, there are a lot of military “2 mile” performances that are just not accurate.
And being in shape for a near record 9:05 2 mile does not really line up with being in shape for a 50 mile or 50k trail race.
Yeah, but as I said the front guys are unedr the spotlight. Again, he is not some mediocre dude who can hide in the pack...

Haha! You seem to be using different user names for each of your comments "no they aren't" or should I call you "Mal Arkey"... He must have really hurt your feelings, huh?
Anyway, only 42 finished the 50, but another 39 finished the marathon and way over 100 started (I was there supporting Dan), plus this is a 10-mile lap they repeat - it's not like they are spread out over 50-miles (as it would be on a point-to-point course), so even at the end there were 81 runners on that course (way more at the beginning), plus there were course marshals on the ground and BIKE MARSHALS, I know that for a fact since I saw them.
Speaking of weird, using different user names and obsessing with him, even stalking him is what's 'weird"...
Also, several runners at the Boogie, including Dan Lenz said he lapped them multiple times...
So, Mal Arkey why are you so obsessed with him? Should I let him know that you stalk him (I assume that you do)? Haha!
Maybe he speeds up later, but watching the first minute of this, it doesn't look like 4:37 mile pace. Maybe 6:37? I got bored and stopped watching. Smells like a smelly smell. )
This is the same bloke who purportedly ran a 4:19 road mile at a virtual race on strava two years ago. It is no longer on strava and the race removed him from its final results but it is still on the race's instagram. The comments are ,,,,, illuminating.
After this controversy in 2020, I decided to do some digging into his races. I found a lot of suspicious stuff that shows he was probably cutting courses (not just this 50 miler) starting in 2017. I made a document summarizing my notes and thoughts. He has since deleted all of the Strava posts I reference (which is suspicious) but a lot of my points still stand.
Here is a summary:
-He consistently doesn't upload Strava races for his "incredible" results. In those posts he owuld say that his watch broke that day even though he would upload runs the day before and the day after. This happened at EVERY race
-His pacing for the Bethel Boogie 50 milers are all over the pace (up and down), which you wouldn't expect in record runs. You could chalk this up to pit stops or some segments being harder, but I think it is suspicious. Especially if you look pack at the results from 2016. In 2016, he gradually and consistently slows down like you would expect in a normal ultra
-In one of his marathons, I found that his photo was missing from the race photos during a section that could be cut
-Back when he was in Raleigh he would post daily runs from 10-30 miles all at 5:40-6:15/mi. I even remember him posting a solo run that would have broken the Masters 50k WR. This seems to indicate data manipulation.
LRC note. A visitor reporter this post as being factually incorrect. We don't know if it's true or not but will share their message, "That's absurd. I don't know about any of the other races, but the Boogie had course marshals both on the ground and on bikes and as somebody in the lead he would have been under the microscope"
Very suspicious indeed.
This guy is only running this specific 50 miler 6 times in a row, nothing else. Pretty weird in my book. If you are that good wouldn't you also run something more competitive? With this sub 5 hour time on a very difficult hot and humid course, he could (mathematically) run around 6:25 over 100k. That is world class.
Unless he runs a race with a bunch of competitors around him, I think this is BS.

What are the chances that the cement loop they are running is exactly 9 loops to a 2 mile? Seemed to be moving reasonably fast though.

Your responses are very illuminating. You are paranoid, factually incorrect, and you make up implausible excuses. Despite a number of people not believing the results, including the irunfar web page, your explanation for the wide spread incredulity is that there is a single overweight woman whose advances were spurned by the Ivaylo who is posting under multiple names to get revenge? Given that I know I've only posted under this name, and I am an underweight heterosexual male runner not interested in a relationship with Ivaylo, I can only conclude from your posts that his results are dirty. Very dirty. Thanks for making that clear.
Is it Dan? Or is it actually Ivaylo posting as Desi?
Regardless, Desi seems to have a personal knowledge of Ivaylo and what he has done. And I would guess that Desi is not a native English speaker as these sentences that Desi is stringing together seem choppy. Maybe Desi is a native of Belarus?
oh that's fair, I hadn't kept track of the names and thought the supposed record-holder was Dan
In any case, I will continue to swat the beehive because people like Desi are just too interesting to leave alone. Some people get quiet when called out, but people like Ivaylo will get into a posting flurry when accused (as evidenced by the instagram thread where Ivaylo makes up half the comments)
I just read the race website. The race started at 6PM.
Running through the night, that screams CHEATING.
MARATHONERS BEWARE: This is not your normal marathon. This is all rural, not a city marathon. You will be in the middle of nowhere all the time with no porta-potties, no splits, no mile markers, no spectators, and late in the run possibly even no other runners. There are only 6 houses on the course and they have dogs. Aid stops are over 5 miles apart, so you will need to carry a water bottle. If you decide to quit, there are no pick-up vans, so you will either have to walk to the aid station or hitch a ride with somebody. The race will start at 6 pm and the temperature will probably be about 85 degrees with little shade. Darkness comes about 9 pm and there are no street lights. You will need a light for the reasons cited in the waiver. If you need to be catered to every couple of miles along the course or worry running in the dark, perhaps you should not come. We really have seen everything listed in the waiver except the polecats and they are there too. The drop out rate among veteran 50-milers is usually 40% or so. Think long and hard before you enter this event. Ask yourself "Am I ready for this? Or would I be better off doing an event where I still have somebody to look after me?" If you're not ready to step up and be responsible for yourself all the way, stay away. Find an easier event.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Both courses are certified. Five repeats of a 6-mile loop and a 4-mile out-and-back for the fifty miler. Start and finish is at the church. All rural and all paved. There are several long hills and some smaller ones too. This is not mountainous but is definitely not flat. The marathon course is the same as the 50 but with less repeats. Marathoners and 50 milers start together. Shortly after the start marathoners will make a left turn and do an out-and-back that is necessary to get the distance correct. The out-and-back just after the start is only done once and is not repeated on later laps. 50 milers will not do the early out-and-back.
