Winning worlds and getting a world record would be an awesome way to retire and move on to something else. Aside from Olympic gold, what else is there? and WR’s will always be broken.
Allen's performance was great for sure. He did say in the interview that he had to take some time off of training and that his legs were fresh for the race. Hopefully he can be sharp in a month.
As for Grant, that was his first race in a couple of months, and 3 tenths faster than that race. He also has a bye this year so I think his training is tailored specifically for worlds as opposed to having to be super sharp at US Nationals. Holloway, Allen, Cunningham, and Roberts (or someone else) is a STRONG team!
Allen will make the roster playing on special teams during the regular season. The Eagles were using Jalen Reagor and Greg Ward last season for kickoff & punt returns last season and they both sucked. Allen may also get some WR snaps in the preseason.
I asked myself how this veteran hurdler, years past his football injuries, somehow knew that he was going to break the world record and then go to pro football this year, which he stated he would do months ago, and here he is not only talking the talk but this close to walking the walk. I am impressed. 12.84 is sensational.
Neither of those guys are going to race him. It’d have to be Reagor or Smith.
LOL! Reagor? He ran a 4.47 at the Combine. I don't count his 4.22 pro day time as those numbers are not FAT timed. Plus Reagor might get cut before the season starts unless the Eagles can get something for him in a trade. Reagor absolutely SUCKS! He can't get open and can't catch the ball. Ask any Eagles fan, we all hate him. Devonta Smith is fast, but he's not a burner. Quez Wadkins is our pure deep threat and Darius Slay at 32yrs old isn't beating Allen in a race.

I remember back in Nehemiah's day people were joking (in a good-natured way) about his NFL prospects that yes, he was very fast and very good at jumping over things but could he learn to run and jump while some guy was trying to tear his arm or his leg or his head off?
With this perfomance, why would he play in the NFL?
He'll certainly make less money in t&f but he won't ruin his body and be forced to take PEDs. The NFLs PED testing is an absolute joke compared to t&f. I don't know how you could compete in the NFL without PEDs. Some of those dudes are just so big and scary.
I'd much rather take home >$250K/yr and medal at worlds than take home the NFL min of $825K/yr and ruin my body with hits and PEDs.
