Since this thread seems to have become about shoes, where is it stated that vaporflys are not allowed? Alphaflys are banned due to them exceeding the 40mm stack height rule but I have seen no rule against vaporflys which are allowed in olympic marathon competiton. As for the Under Armour comment, everyone knows UA's track spikes and racing shoes suck. Look at teams sponsored by UA and you won't see them all training in UA shoes or racing in them. This is a violation for pro athletes but collegiate athletes can wear them, they just won't get them for free as they would UA stuff
Someone obviously doesn't know that all Under Armour university deals are not the same.
Notice how Jacobs greyed out the Nike swoosh on the top and sides of the shoe. If Notre Dame athletics allowed Nike footwear under their contract with Under Armour, they wouldn't cover the Nike logo on the shoes.
That makes zero sense. If I go to my local Ontario Masters mini meet crewed by a skeleton crew of octogenarian volunteers, the meet has to follow Athletics Ontario/Athletics Canada regulations which say all track meets must follow World Athletics codes. If my local rinky dink masters meet for 30 athletes in small town Ontario can be up to code than the NCAA can figure it out.
If Seb Coe had nipped this in the bud in 2016 Nike would have stopped making these cheater shoes.
Yep. It's possible it got brought up but I'm sure the little company in Beaverton would have had something to say.
UA can barely keep up with meeting their requirements for the football and basketball teams. Their shoes are sub-par, bordering on dangerous. I don't think the ND AD is going to worry about a 10K runner upsetting the people at UA, and the odds that contact is renewed 2024 are pretty low. Honestly, Swarbrick should be canned for signing it in the first place.
