Here, in these preseason rankings, Plainfield south was 30th and in the Instagram comments people who’s teams aren’t ranked are asking how much you have to pay to take the 30th spot. And in the end, 30th place is actually way too low for Plainfield South.
Noecker from Nebraska should be in tier 3. As should David Mora from TX. Probably Tostenson from Crater as well. And maybe Heemeyer from Rocky mountain
Brayden Seymour does workouts with Lex and Leo but I wouldn’t add him to tier 3 until his race results improve. Martinez did better last year at Clovis than Seymour did this year
Corner Canyon is losing their #3, Carter Cutting. I think Mountain View (UT) is going to make it from the SW instead, not sure where they would place here though. Also do you think SW has a chance to send 4 teams this year? They seem to have a lot of depth, but I haven't looked into other regions much.
Just saw your previous response about SW sending 2 at-large bids, who is your other pick? I saw you mentioning AF, but personally my bets are on Riverton. With returning 4 under 16, their 5th looks to be behind a decent amount, but he had a good track season, running 9:42 for 3200 at altitude as a sophomore, and I think they could make some waves this year.
IMG Academy appears to have incoming freshman Huntley Buckingham who ran a 10:15 in the 3k that would make an impact. Now sure if she will be doing CC or not. I haven’t seen that she’s ever done it. She is also a very committed tennis player.
Looks like she moved to TX and runs XC there. Now IMG has a solid 1/2, and that’s it

Like the tiers. Jones and Birnbaum definitely need to move up. I'd put Gorze in tier one, his times this season are incredible. I almost want to move Sahlman down to tier three. Everyone puts Leo and Lex in a field of their own, but I think a lot of these guy should be able to compete with them. Gorze of course, but Burns, Hansen, and Birnbaum are also very tough. The midwest boys train in tough conditions and don't have many opportunities to run fast, so their times should improve a lot at these national meets.
It'll be interesting to see how Gorze does at NXR. This may be a bold take, but my prediction is that he will get 2nd to Heemeyer from rocky mountain. Maybe I'm way off, but it is Heemeyer's home course, and he hasn't had competition all year, unlike Gorze who has usually had someone try it with him for most of him races.
