In case you never saw him play…
In case you never saw him play…
to be fair RGIII never focused on the flat events in track. But he was elite in the hurdles, made ncaa’s and the Olympic trials
I can name 20 NFLers faster than any QB.
Works like this...
RGIII was a hurdler, he had serious speed endurance, running a 100m would be no problem. Can Vick even run a 100m, he wasn't a track guy at all and neither was Jackson.
Rex Georgius III? Where is he king of?
His opening comments during his intro showed how much he loves track.
Was super excited to see him on the broadcast last night. He was great during college football season. Commentates more like I'm watching something with a group of friends. Knowledgeable but gives some excitement/emotion. Not just the usual boring that we get with sports.
Liked that he dared to point out that Matthew Boling is a bit of a rarity due to his being white.
Wonder if this honesty will be used to attack him
He is ok but is nowhere near the GOAT Jill
BRING BACK JILL
this is incredible. never had near unanimous enthusiasm for a track commentator. missed the meet last night, but look forward to catching him sometime.
I don't know if you're serious, but it's Robert Griffin III, and yes, his father was Robert Griffin Jr. and grandfather Robert Griffin. So that's legit; he's always gone by that, since he hurdled world class U-20 times in high school. Obviously, RGIII or RG3 is catchy, so it stuck.
15 years after his prep career ended in 2007, he's still #5 all-time in 300H (35.33) and #2 all-time in 400H (49.56). So he's more than elite, he's one of the best ever and a true Texas 2-sport legend. No doubt in my mind if he'd focused on track, he would have been an Olympian... maybe a OG/WC medalist.
He's refreshing as a t&f commentator.
I caught some of the coverage yesterday, but didn't know it was him. Definitely better than whatever NBC throws out there for big meets.
More RG III
Another big "Yes" vote for Griffin.
He clearly studied well because he knew the athletes.
He offered insight without being overbearing or overcomplicating things.
He was enthusiastic -- he gave the impression that he loves T&F meets, and even if he was faking that, he sold it.
His jokes were very funny, not corny, and they seemed to be made up in real time rather than prepared and rehearsed.
As another poster indicated, he passed the ultimate "test" for a sport broadcaster -- would you want to be sitting next to him in the stands at a meet (game / match)? For me, heck yes.
That's stupid. You're stupid. Do you ever post anything that isn't a white grievance?
I guess you didn't know he was a 1st team All-American hurdler at Baylor. He is arguably one the best all-around athletes in the last 20 years in America. He is well versed and poised as he has done NFL games and pre-game and post-game shows. He completed proved just how awful Jill Montgomery and Dwight Stones are.
While props for going there he was wrong, yes it does matter what color/race you are that is why there was only.....one....white sprinter out there.
Alleged first son of King George III. He perhaps ruled Knysna in South Africa. He was more of a founder of the town, not its king. But common mistake, mixing up the NFL QB with this guy.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
