They are decent and at least make it a bit funny. The best actual reviews are usually roadtrailrun multi-tester written reviews though. I'd consider that the best one stop review shop but overall as you tend to get reviewers who are a mix of size and pace and like different fits, but unless you are completely new to the sport, do you even need reviews?
We're a few iterations into all the super shoes now so they are at the point where if you say like a Vaporfly, keep buying the Vaporfly. You know what different compounds feel like. Lightstrike is garbage, Lightstrike pro is better. React is meh but ZoomX is tasty, etc. The only shoes that to me are changing a lot from one iteration to the other are trail shoes. They are a few years behind road shoes in terms of the tech so reviews are helpful there. The comparisons on RTR help. Mainly I like to know weight and if the fit is true to size as I'm a big foot guy so weight matters more than in say a mens 7.5
Not sure other peoples approach but for me if its a completely new shoe to the rotation, I'll read some reviews to nail the fit (as I can fluctuate between and 12 and 13 depending on the make so knowing if its TTS or not matters a lot) and ride and then I'll hunt sales. Happy to go the old model on the cheap too.
