This is pure speculation but perhaps Art Siemers will be considered. Just stepped down from CSU as his wife is taking a job in Chattanooga, TN, just 2 hours from UT. Not sure how or if that would work but who knows.

Definitely a massive upgrade. Did BAS set back PSU more than she did UT? At any rate, any ACC, Big 12, or other SEC program could have pulled Ross out of NC A&T prior to this if they were really willing. Ross built NC A&T basically out of dust. He'll take the parts he finds at UT and build a better program. There will be many good assistants that will want work with a successful visionary such as Ross. If UT is smart, they'll let him build it his way. That doesn't have to include a big investment in distance and xc, regardless of what the wishful thinkers here may say.
If the admin at NC A&T wants to continue supporting that type of success, they'll find a good replacement. Maybe one of Ross's assistants will carry the torch there rather than jump to UT. NC A&T is rare for HBCUs in how much they have been willing to invest in having success in this area. HBCU track will continue on as it has, no need to wail over it.
Who is his present distance coach? Perhaps Ross will take him to Tennessee too.
Timars will more than likely follow Duane to Tennessee.

He will absolutely take the distance coach with him. Since it’s him…
Ross has agreed to a five-year contract for $450,000 annually to oversee
the men's and women's track programs. That's almost double the $230,000
paid to Alford-Sullivan in the final year of her contract, which
expires June 30.
he was the distance coach according to their website

Who? I do not see that name on the roster
They hired the wrong Duane!

Doesn't matter NC A&T distance sucks. I don't even see a distance coach on the A&T staff. Ross will not put any effort into the distance. That said, he's a great coach in his area and will continue to do well just like at A&T.
Caleb Morgan would be the most ideal choice in my mind with his recent success with Christian Noble and Celine Ritter. Morgan is only a few minutes from Lee and is used to recruiting in the state of Tennessee. Although I don’t know if he would leave Lee for Tennessee with his current recruiting class of distance runners he has coming in.
He's a high school senior:
T'Mars (TJ) McCallum - 25-3 long jump U.S. no. 1 (HS)

Peter Dalton would be a good hire as well
no.
So, what happened to his distance coach? There was someone at that position a month ago.

Honestly these coaches are loaded. Their salaries rival that of world renown surgeons. UT literally has $450,000 to spare in one single salary 😮💨. This how i know scholarship limits for men and women in athletics is some bs.
Don't worry about paying the National Track Coach of the Year; when this happened and TN. is still paying more fired Football coaches:
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee has fired Kevin Steele, and the longtime football coach could be paid up to $860,870 in severance for a job he had for seven weeks.

Lee men were 17th at NCAA cross this fall. Women were 8th? Program regularly underachieves at national level meets. Probably not a great fit for a SEC or competitive Division 1 program until shows can get it done consistently when it matters (@ NCAAs).
Ross will hire Ryan Vanhoy, pay him a ton, and get a "free" coach in his wife.
