Can anyone tell me about this area. Thanks.

It's very pretty. Lots of bad wine. Lots of good running roads and trails. There's a bajillion state parks and state forests in the area. Lots of farms, which means great produce and farmers markets.
That area is gorges
Beautiful area, brutal winters.
The Seneca 7 (77 mile 7 person relay) is a wonderful event. You run all the way around Seneca Lake. I've run it multiple times. Your total personal mileage for the day will range from 10-13 miles. The 77 miles is split up into 21 segments, each person on your team runs three.
Highly recommended. Although I selfishly do not necessarily want to post it here, because the event is very popular and sells out almost immediately. The more people know about it, the more I may be locked out from running it again.
Humid summers, dreary winters, ideal fall weather. Lots of hills, scattered small towns, and huge skinny lakes.
Not many long rec paths like you get in the Midwest or colorado, but plenty of rural roads to run on.
You can feel pretty isolated up here. Population is typically college students, generational locals, or people who moved here for the viticulture industry.
Seneca Falls also has a 19km race.
Lots of interesting history involving Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Caden Stanton, WIlliam Seward and Harriet Tubman. Seward and Tubman are buried in the same cemetry in Auburn.
Is nice.
A lot or really bad wine, but very pretty. Almost looks like Europe in parts. When NYC becomes uninhabitable due to climate change, it’s going to become very crowded.
Before Wells college went coed it was a great place for a fun packed weekend. I never felt so used . No problem.
Check out the Ithaca Farmer's Market. Very cool- on the lake, music, all kinds of food. Local fruit and produce (all organic). Get there early parking is horrendous.
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Matt Choi was drinking beer halfway through the Boston Marathon
