So a little background first, I am currently a sophomore in high school, and I am just about done with my first season of high school running. I ran a little in middle school, but I took a break because of covid and only started last year for XC. I managed to run 18:5xx in XC and improved to run 2:10 and 4:50~ in track. I ran the 3200 once this season, and barely broke 11, but it was after a 2 week break. I run between 10 - 25 mpw, and I have been quite inconsistent with my training. However, I plan on training more seriously this summer, and building up a good base with 30-40 mpw if I can. What kinds of goals should I set for next season, and do you guys have any training advice? currently my goal is sub 17:00 but I'm not sure if that is too easy or too hard.
